At the Microsoft Press Confrence today at E3, Bungie premered the first live single-player gameplay footage of Halo Reach.  I have to say this is what I’ve been hoping to see for a while now, as multiplayer isn’t what attracts me to a Halo game, it’s the single player story.

Halo Reach will be released September 14, 2010 for the Xbox 360.

Crytek has just announced that their upcoming game, Crysis 2 will support Stereoscopic 3D on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Crytek has always prided itself with being at the forefront of gaming technology, and every release they’ve done has pushed the boundaries on what modern hardware could handle, 3D seems like a logical extension of that.

Crysis 2 will release Holiday 2010 on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Metal Gear Solid Rising E3 Demonstration June 14, 2010

The next major release of the fantastic Metal Gear Solid Series will be Metal Gear Solid Rising, and here is the first actual demonstration of that game along with the gameplay.

From the looks of it, the game series is evolving from a stealth focused game, and with the new protagonist of Raiden, becoming a platforming hack and slash with fantastic graphics and in game physics.  I was kind of hoping for some story along with the gameplay, but it just was not to be.

Historically, Metal Gear Solid has always owned the E3s they premered at.  That usually comes from the fact that the story has always been the sticking point.  I’m sure that the story is going to be announced soon, but the gameplay and graphics alone looks fantastic.

Metal Gear Solid Rising will star Raiden and will be coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

I’m not much of a fan of MMA or MMA games at all, however, EA has now announced a new feature that they’re bringing into their new MMA game, and their later games, and that is Live Broadcast, where you the player get to have a more personal experience with your games.

You will be able to upload videos of yourself into the Live Broadcast system, selling your skills and psyching out your opponent before the game starts.  This will be accessible through your game or the game’s website.  There will also be live commnentary on games by announcers, and a rewards system.  Looks pretty interesting, I hope they use it in other games.

The first Dead Space was to me the sleeper horror hit of 2008.  I was a big fan of this game when I got to play it around Christmas of that year, and I loved the Dead Space: Downfall Blu-Ray movie, and the rail shooter wii game.

This is some of the first gameplay footage for Dead Space 2 shown, and it looks amazing and scary.  The squeemish need not apply for this one.

UPDATE:  Unfortunatly, EA has pulled all Dead Space 2 releated videos from E3 from YouTube.  I can’t possibly understand why, out of all their other released videos, EA did not bother to upload any Dead Space 2 E3 videos to their E3 channel.  Until they bother to release it, here’s the announcement trailer, the only Dead Space 2 video EA is hosting.

Dead Space 2 is coming multiplatform January 25th, 2011!

The Force Unleashed II E3 Trailer June 14, 2010

I considered Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to be a major release of the Star Wars canon, but there were definatly problems with it gameplay wise.

You also have to take into account just how final the ending of that game was, since in the good ending of the game, the protagonist dies, and in the bad ending of the game, he does things that invalidate the Star Wars canon, like kill Darth Vader.

Well this CGI rendered preview trailer should answer a few questions to what the story is going to be, and how the main character could return.

The Force Unleashed II is expected to release multiplatform October 26th, 2010.

Flash 10.1 Released, now HD YouTube Videos Won’t Run Like Flipbooks June 14, 2010

From the “two years late” department, Adobe has finally gotten around to taking Flash 10.1 out of beta and put it in the hands of everyone who goes to their site to upgrade their old versions of Flash 10, or since most people don’t know about that sort of thing, probably versions of Flash 8 or 9 (anyone with versions older than that have probably had their computers die on them by now).

The important extra feature about this release, GPU rendering.  That’s right, something that video players have had since 2003, making rendering HD video since then on mid range and high range PC’s extremely seamless and beautiful.  Well, even though flash has supported HD video for a few years on sites like YouTube and Gametrailers, you’d probably notice that the videos in HD would usually run like crap, because until yesterday flash was CPU rendering only, which in this modern time is equivelant to having your software stuck in 1998.

So you’ll probably notice an increase of performance on our YouTube embeds if you upgrade.  You’ll probably also notice you won’t have to cut the Gametrailers feeds to download the video instead, because their streaming videos (since they forced flash playback) have been unwatchable.
