Legendary Pokemon Hoopa Distrubution at McDonalds November 27-December 23 October 30, 2015
Posted by Maniac in Game News.add a comment
The Pokémon Company announced earlier today that the mythical Pokémon Hoopa is FINALLY being distributed for a short time next month.
If you want a Hoopa of your very own, take your 3DS system loaded with a copy of your game to a McDonalds equipped with a Nintendo Zone hotspot between November 27 and December 23rd, 2015. How do you know if your local McDonalds includes a Nintendo Zone hotspot? In the US, they’ll typically be at retailers who offer AT&T’s wireless internet hotspots. Typically, if you find yourself getting half a dozen StreetPass tags a minute into entering a McDonalds, it’s a good bet that the location has a Nintendo Zone hotspot.
Once the Hoopa distrubtion has begun, you will be able to obtain this legendary Pokémon from the Gift menu while inside the McDonalds.
How powerful is Hoopa and what will you be able to do with it once you get it? Take a look for yourselves.
Make sure to check ahead to see which of your local McDonalds are equipped with AT&T hotspots before attempting to put your 3DS on an untrusted WiFi connection.
Please note this distribution is only for North America. UK will be getting Hoopa from GAME retailers.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are out now exclusively on Nintendo 3DS systems.
Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector’s Edition Disc Replacement Review October 29, 2015
Posted by Maniac in Site Videos.add a comment
Microsoft erroneously assumed that players who purchased a Limited COLLECTOR’s Edition of a game would prefer to get a digital download code which would only work once and retain no value at all instead of a disc which could be used on any Xbox One console. After receiving a huge negative backlash for this decision, Microsoft announced they would offer replacement discs to anyone who did not want to download their game online.
Maniac decided to contact Xbox Support to get his code replaced for a disc. How did it turn out? Just watch.

Farewell, FamiKamen Rider Movie Commentary Released October 24, 2015
Posted by Maniac in Game News.add a comment
A few months ago the incredible online reviewer Kaylyn Saucedo, better known to the Internet as MarzGurl, released the feature-length film Farewell, FamiKamen Rider in honor of her late friend Justin Carmical, who you may know better as the import game reviewer JewWario. The FamiKamen Rider was a character JewWario originally created from his love of Japanese culture and is inspired heavily by Nintendo, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai. Justin planned to produce an entire online series based on the character, but he sadly died before the project could be completed.
Some time later, Kaylyn and Josh Saucedo announced they would be producing a feature-length FamiKamen Rider film as a tribute to their friend Justin. The film was produced in about a year with a very minimal budget. When the final film was eventually released online in its two-hour feature-length glory, it quickly became one of my favorite videos on YouTube.
The filmmakers have confirmed that they do not plan to sell this film unless the proceeds could go to a proper charity. However, earlier this week, the filmmakers have rereleased the film on YouTube with a full-length commentary. If you ever wanted to know how much work goes into producing this incredible tribute to a beloved friend and colleague, give it a watch.
Rest in peace, Justin.

Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes on the Nintendo 3DS earlier today. The game is a spiritual sequel to Four Swords Adventures, but takes place after the events of A Link Between Worlds. Fans of the site might remember we previewed this game during Nintendo’s E3 2015 Super Mario Maker preview event, and so we picked up a copy of it this afternoon at our local Best Buy.
Let’s see what’s inside the box while Maniac describes one of the most frustrating shopping experiences he’s had in quite some time.

Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector’s Edition Unboxing October 21, 2015

We’re a week away from the official worldwide release of Halo 5: Guardians, but Microsoft decided to do something really special for anyone who picked up the game’s Limited Collector’s Edition and released that version of the game a week early. They could get away with doing this and not breaking the game’s official street date because they decided that they would include a prepaid digital download code for the full version of the game inside the LCE’s box instead of an actual game disc. This code, while nowhere near as easy to deal with as a game disc is, would allow players to preload the game and any day one patches to their Xbox One console a week early, saving them from having to install and download the game at midnight and allowing them to play the game the second it unlocks at midnight on the 27th.
Today, Maniac and his girlfriend Princess Angel decided to take a look at what’s actually included inside of the Limited Collector’s Edition box and see if it is indeed worth the $249 US price tag, disc or no disc.
Note: Anyone who picked up this version of the game and would prefer to receive a disc instead of a download code SHOULD NOT REDEEM THE CODE INCLUDED INSIDE THE GAME BOX. Instead, follow these instructions on how to get their code replaced with a disc.
Halo 5: Guardians is coming out October 27th, 2015 exclusively on the Xbox One.
