I’m Trying to Upload Videos June 15, 2010

I’m trying my best to scoop most of the major game news organizations by scooping them with the news from the E3 confrence before they can post them up themselves.  Because of that, I’m posting up the news as soon as I can, and if the videos are unavalible to go along with the news, I can either dig it up from an unofficial source, or wait for someone to post them up (EA’s pretty good about posting their YouTube videos, but they’re just not being timely).

I’ve chosen to post the news first when made, and post up the game’s trailer when it becomes avalible on YouTube.  That means that while at first in some cases you might not see a game trailer with a news post, just wait a while and I’ll probably have one up later.

Keep checking this site for the latest in E3 news, posted before all the other guys can finish twiddling their thumbs.

I’ve currently updated my videos from my BulletStorm preview and my Crysis 2 preview, so recheck those posts for some thing you hadn’t seen before.

Gabe Newell of Valve Software took the stage at the Sony E3 Press Conference and announced that Portal 2 will be released on the Playstation 3, and will support Steam Cloud and Steamworks, making, as he claims, the Playstation version of Portal 2, the definitive console version of the game.

The game’s graphics look phenomenal, an overgrown lush enviroment is taking over the original test chambers, and Chell will have to navigate through them in order to survive as GLaDOS rebuilds herself.

Portal 2 is coming to PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 in 2011.

Sony Announces Dead Space 2 PS3 Will Include Dead Space Extraction for Move June 15, 2010

During the Dead Space 2 Demo at Sony’s E3 Showcase, Sony announced that all copies of the PS3 version of Dead Space 2 will include an HD version of Dead Space Extraction specicially designed for Playstation Move.

It’s nice that gamers are being offered extra value for their dollar these days, and Sony’s showing that they’re in a habit of getting superior versions of games by offering free exclusive content (like Playable Joker Levels in Batman: Arkham Asylum) and special editions (like with Dante’s Inferno).

Hey, I honestly don’t mind buying PS3 versions of games, my Xbox 360 predates HDMI.

Dead Space 2 is coming Multiplatform January 25th, 2011.

Sony Announces Playstation Plus June 15, 2010

Sony has announced at their confrence that they will be activating the Playstation Plus paid service on top of the current Playsation Network later this month.  It will cost $49.99 a year, and will consist of getting early access to demos, betas, Playstation Core, and full PSN and Playstation 1 Classics.

Sony will be offering a free three month subscription to give current PS3 owners a taste of the system.  However, the problem I see with this is that while you’ll have early access to demos and betas, all the “free” content you get with the service (like Wipeout HD, which will be a free launch title for Plus users) will only be accessable while you’re a user.  It would likely be cheaper just to buy a copy of Wipeout HD for 20 dollars and own it forever, than pay hundreds of dollars for several years just to keep playing it.

Warren Spector, creator of Deus Ex, has demoed his next major game at the Nintendo E3 Press Confrence, Epic Mickey.

You’d think a game with Mickey Mouse would be specifcally just for kids, but with Warren Spector behind it, I seriously doubt that will be the case.  Take a look at the E3 2010 trailer for yourselves.  The game looks dark and stylish.

Epic Mickey is coming Holiday 2010 to the Nintendo Wii.
