Maniac unboxes the major first party release for the Wii U, Nintendo Land by…Nintendo. This game was promised to take full advantage of all the Wii U Controller’s capabilities and by being bundled with the 32GB Deluxe Black Edition of the Wii U, is poised to be just as important to the launch of the Wii U console as Wii Sports was for the Wii.

Nintendo Land is out now exclusive to the Wii U. It is bundled with all Deluxe Edition 32GB Black Wii U models, or sold individually at retail or download through the Nintendo Wii U’s eShop.

ZombiU iPhone Companion App Released November 20, 2012

You might notice that UbiSoft has released a ZombiU app for the iPhone.  With it, it can get you to take pictures of yourself or your friends and it can track the stages of your “infection” just as you can with the Wii U Controller, or record survivors videos.  It seems to be released to coincide with the advertising campaign for ZombiU and has direct access to the ZombiU Official Site.

Unfortunately one thing that this app does not have is integration with the game, the Nintendo Network, or Uplay.  However, if you would like that kind of functionality it is available.  The Uplay app for the iPhone, DOES integrate with ZombiU’s Uplay integration and allows you to unlock bonus content in the game.  You even get 10 free Uplay points just for using the Uplay program for the first time, which can be used in any Uplay enabled game, like ZombiU or Assassin’s Creed III.

The ZombiU and Uplay app are out now for free download to your iOS device from the Apple App Store.

Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition has been released exclusive to the Wii U.  As a Wii U launch title it has a few major distinctions.  On the one hand it is an updated version of the Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition which was previously released for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 and includes the entire game Batman: Arkham City, as well as all of the downloadable content released for it.  On the other, the game has been entirely retooled for the Wii U Controller which turns your Wii U Controller into the Batcomputer, giving you improved navigation and access to character dossiers from the controller’s touch screen.  The game also has new armored skins for Batman and Catwoman, and new gameplay functionality with the B-A-T mode.

Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition is out now exclusive to the Wii U.
