E3 2016 Press Event Schedule June 12, 2016
Posted by Maniac in Game News.add a comment
Today marks the start of the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo, and there will be several major conferences taking place over the next 36 hours. So where do you go and what do you do if you want to check them out? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
Sunday
EA Press Conference 2016 – 1PM PT/4PM ET. See it on Twitch.
Most pundits are speculating the next Mass Effect game will show at this event.
Bethesda Press Conference – 7PM PT/10 PM ET. See it on Twitch.
Monday
Xbox Press Conference – 9:30PM PT/12:30PM ET. You’ll have a few options to watch this. Event will be broadcast on the Spike TV cable channel and in the console’s Xbox Live Events app. You can also See it on Twitch.
Halo Wars 2 and Gears of War 4 are expected to show.
Ubisoft Press Event – 1PM PT/4PM ET. You’ll have a few options to watch this event. You can watch it on Ubisoft’s E3 Website or on Twitch.
Watch Dogs 2, which was announced just a few days ago, is confirmed to show at this event.
Sony PlayStation Press Event – 6 PM PT/9 PM ET. Sadly, it doesn’t look like they’re doing a theatre showing or releasing an exclusive PS4 app this year, but you should be able to watch the event on the PS4’s Live Events Viewer app. Just make sure to preorder the events in advance through the app. The E3 events are all free. If you don’t have a PS4, you can watch it on Twitch.
Sony has been pretty hush hush about what might be shown at this event but PlayStation VR is expected to be demoed.
Square Enix is also planning to show Final Fantasy XV during one of these press events, and possibly announce the premiere of the second episode of the traditionally animated series BROTHERHOOD – Final Fantasy XV. While we don’t know for sure which event will premiere it, it is highly likely to be at Sony’s Press Event.
Now you’re probably also wondering what’s going on with Nintendo? Nintendo won’t be doing a press conference or a prerecorded Nintendo Direct event this year but they promise that they will be previewing the new Zelda and Pokémon games starting on the 14th. We will cover that more as we get closer to the event.
While most of these events have been broadcast on television in the past, very few of these events are planned to get a television broadcast this year, and that is unbearably disappointing. I never thought I would say this but I miss G4.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Mega Mewtwo X Unboxing June 12, 2016

One of the aspects of Pokémon we rarely have discussed here on the website is the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). This is kind of odd, since the TCG has been a popular game ever since the earliest days of Pokemania back in the late 90s, and we have been meaning to address it for some time now.
But how could we start? Aside from a lot of encouragement, it was difficult to find advice about a good place to start with the game. There have been a lot of decks, limited edition packages, and expansions over the lifespan of this game and because of that it is difficult to determine where to start. So we decided to just go with the flow and we picked up a Mega Mewtwo X box and we will be unboxing it along side a Trainer Kit with a Pikachu Libre card.

Continuing with our promised pre-E3 coverage, we have two new Pokémon related videos planned for release today, and here’s the first one.
We’ve been playing Pokken Tournament here for quite a few weeks and we may have a video review of the game coming in the near future. However, while you may know that new copies of the game come with a Shadow Mewtwo Amiibo card that can unlock a Shadow Mewtwo early in the game, you may not know that the game has support for every other Amiibo figure out there.
That’s right, you can unlock random goodies in Pokken Tournament using Amiibo figures. Here’s all you have to do:
Pokken Tournament is out now on the Wii U.

A new required patch for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has just been released on the PlayStation Network.
The new version of the game added a safety check to game profiles to prevent loss of data. You can read all of the official patch notes here.
If you have already downloaded all of the previous game patches, version 1.06 shouldn’t weigh in at more than 85MB. The new patch is required to play the game’s multiplayer online.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is out now exclusively on the PS4.
You Can’t Register Codes in Pokemon TCG Online for iPad June 10, 2016

We are really busy over here on the site and now that we had the chance to publish today’s video content, we wanted to devote some time this weekend before E3 to talk about what’s going on in the Pokémon community. What better way to start than by giving an introduction to the incredibly popular Pokémon Trading Card Game!
The Pokémon Trading Card Game has become a phenomenon since it first launched. The game can even be played online without ever needing to open up a physical card deck. That’s right, trainers who choose the TCG can sign up for the game at the official Pokémon website and use their skills, experience and wits to play online against other TCG trainers from all over the world.
Like with the physical TCG, players can purchase new card packs to improve their play decks. Online codes for digital cards can be obtained in physical game packs or through occasional promotional campaigns. This latter option is how many players preferred to get new cards online, and since the official application launched on the iPad (with Retina screen) last year, it was a popular option.
However, I was extremely disheartened to discover that Apple forced The Pokémon Company to disable the online code redemption for the iPad version of the game. The Pokémon Company claims no credit at all for this policy change and say the decision was forced on them by Apple.
So what can you do if you are an iPad player with some card codes you would like to redeem? I’m afraid you have no choice but to play the game on another platform. I personally would recomend the PC or Mac option. The computer interface is identical to the tablet version, barring the portability options offered by a tablet. There’s no touchscreen support for the computer versions, but I still remember how to use a mouse, and that works fine.
I don’t blame The Pokémon Company at all for this decision as Apple has had a track list of dictating to developers what they will and will not allow on their digital marketplace, often to the detriment of the consumer. If you ask me Apple should reverse this decision immediately. Up to this point, there have not been widespread reports of issues with code redemption on the iPad, this new Apple policy is in my opinion an enormous mistake. If you leave out an important feature of the game that your rival platforms will allow, players will switch gears and choose to use your rival’s platforms. It could inspire loyal players to trade in their iPad and switch to an Android tablet for their next upgrade.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game Online is out now and can be played on PC, Mac, Android Tablets and iPad. You can download the game to your desktop or laptop for free right here or at your tablet’s digital marketplace.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Unboxing June 10, 2016

We picked up the original Gears of War on the Xbox 360 right when it was first released. Many have admitted it was the one major exclusive Microsoft could hold over the PlayStation 3 before it’s inevitable launch in 2006. It would not disappoint, as the game was a huge hit with gamers and critics, and it’s enduring legacy has spawned four sequels, two PC ports, a comic series, a novel series, and an unimaginable amount of fan created content.
Now, the original Gears of War has been ported to the Xbox One with all of the extra content from its PC version. What else is in the game box? Let’s find out.
Gears of War Ultimate Edition is out now on the PC and Xbox One.

Watch Dogs 2 Announced June 8, 2016

When Ubisoft announced Watch Dogs back at E3 2012, I was intrigued. While the finished game did not live up to some critic’s expectations, I enjoyed the game tremendously, and found a lot to love while playing it and it’s follow-up DLC campaign Bad Blood.
Less than a week away from E3, Ubisoft has officially announced Watch Dogs 2.
That’s right, we have a new Watch Dogs game in a brand new city with a brand new main character. So who is Marcus, the new protagonist? Check out this trailer.
He sure dresses like Aiden Pierce, perhaps the player’s actions in the first game inspired others?
What goes into making a game like this? Perhaps this world premiere documentary will shed some light on that.
Watch Dogs 2 is coming to the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
