We are bringing back a video series we have been working on where we show some of the more unusual oddities from our collection. Today, we’ll be showing off some rare Xbox One merchandise that was never shown in stores. It was given out to a few gamers who used the ESPN app on the Xbox One during a limited time.

Currently, we can’t place a value on these items as they were a gift. We may show off some other oddities from our collection as time goes on. Post a comment below with your thoughts and if there’s anything you would like to see closer!

1989 Batmobile Close-Up May 24, 2018

Words cannot express just how important the character of Batman has been to the video game industry. However, decades before the games were released Batman appeared on film driving one of the most iconic vehicles in film history, the Batmobile. While I believe Batman’s best game appearances were the Batman: Arkham Asylum games, no one could forget Tim Burton’s iconic 1989 Batman film. In fact, gamers got the ability to drive the famous 1989 version of the Batmobile as a special DLC for the Xbox One/PS4 game Batman: Arkham Knight.

1989’s Batmobile was designed by the late Anton Furst and includes headlights from a Honda Civic and tail lights from a Ferrari. Enjoy this close up of the Batmobile made for the 1989 Tim Burton film Batman in glorious 4K.

Before you post a comment below wondering how the Penguin could have gotten access to the plans for this vehicle in the 1992 film Batman Returns, we already solved that mystery. Please enjoy the educational video below.

Dot Hack DVD Deals May 19, 2018

A few years ago, Maniac hosted a series where he shared some of the best deals he could find at the time while shopping for Final Fantasy and Silent Hill games. The idea was to report on where certain items with limited availability could be obtained for low prices. He hasn’t needed to bring it back in a while, but after getting into the .hack// series while playing .hack//G.U. on the PS4, he became interested in learning more about the franchise. Since the PS2 episodic games are long out of print and the PSP game .hack//Link was never released in the US, that meant Maniac would be checking out the animated series. Thankfully, Funimation re-released many of the original .hack animated series on DVD and Blu-Ray Discs, and with the re-released, each boxed set includes every episode of an individual series along with any O.V.A.s.

But what .hack// DVDs should you get and in what order do they go? Is there anything you should get on Blu-Ray Disc? What price should you expect for each boxed set? We’re back to sharing some of Maniac’s best deals on the web and where to find them. Watch, and find out.

Any geek worth their salt is familiar with the website ThinkGeek.com. They distribute geeky clothing, collectibles and more through their website. Today, we’re going to take a closer look at one of their exclusive products…in glorious 4K.

My Dungeons & Dragons playing readers know that good, fair dice are an important component to a fun gaming experience. Previously, ThinkGeek sold an exclusive D20 that lit up when the die landed on 20. Now, they’re selling an entire set of light-up dice, and we are going to take a closer look at them. To keep the dice fair their internal batteries cannot be replaced, but we knew that before buying them. Let’s take a closer look and see if they’re worth it.

Welcome back to Maniac’s Kitchen, where we review and share recipes for some of the best foods for gamers. Today, we’ll be talking about a staple of the Otaku diet, Pocky.

I’ve seen Pocky sold in large quantities at anime and fan conventions for the past decade, because it’s from Japan and tastes great. I never tried it myself until ConnectiCon 2015. Now, it’s common to see Pocky sold in local corner stores, and I’ve got a new flavor to try. Let’s see how we like Pocky Almond Crush.

Yesterday, Sony and Quantic Dream released the demo for their next highly anticipated PS4 exclusive, Detroit: Become Human. We’ve enjoyed every single game that has been released by Quantic Dream since they released Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) in 2005, and we could not have been more excited to see this demo. It was previously played by a very limited crowd at events like E3, but now all PS4 owners with internet access can play it! Don’t forget, the game features a dynamic event system and can play out differently depending on the choices the player makes. Let’s take a look and see how we do.

All gameplay footage is streamed from a PS4 Pro and provided with full video commentary. Please forgive some of the video’s color correction. Twitch has some issues when outputting an HDR signal.

If you’d like to watch our streams live as they are broadcast you can subscribe to our Twitch Channel.

Detroit: Become Human is coming May 25th, 2018 exclusively to the PS4.

Welcome back to Maniac’s Kitchen, where we cook and review lots of different food for gamers. Today, we’ll be sharing an original recipe you won’t find anywhere else!

Everybody loves tuna fish sandwiches but not everybody likes mayo. I honestly don’t like it very much, myself. After a bit of experimentation, I’ve found a great way to make tuna salad without mayo.

Here’s the full list of ingredients you’ll need:

  • A can of tuna
  • Bread
  • Onion
  • Celery
  • Spices
  • White vinegar
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Olive oil

The required cooking implements are pretty simple:

  • Knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Toaster
  • Spoon
  • Can opener

Let’s get cooking, shall we?

April’s Legendary Pokemon at Target Stores This Week April 23, 2018

Between April 22nd and April 30th, Target retail stores across the US will be participating in The Pokémon Company’s Legendary Pokémon distribution. Codes for Legendary Pokémon from previous generations are getting released every month through various means, and they can be redeemed in any of the four Generation 7 titles. The Pokémon you earn from the code depends on the month the code was distributed and what specific title you redeem the code on.

This is not an unusual occurrence, as codes for special Pokémon can get distributed by retail stores like GameStop. GameStop stores are small and it is easy to ask a game advisor for a special code if they have any. However, Target stores are huge and employ a large staff. Where do you go while you’re in the store and who do you have to ask? Well, we went into Target earlier today and got those answers.

Get your code now while they last. You can find out more about this event and keep up to date with the year of Legendary Pokémon right here.

Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are out now exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS platform.

Welcome back to Mind of Maniac, an unscripted series where we discuss gaming related topics. When you break it all down, fan conventions are a great way for people to socialize with others who share similar interests. We’ve been attending conventions for over a decade, and with Con Season starting back up, I feel the time is right for me to tell the story of my first fan event. My first convention wasn’t E3 or a Comic Con, it was a Film Festival run by Kevin Smith. Buckle in, because this is the longest Mind of Maniac to date.

As we previously reported, we’ll be attending ConnectiCon 2018 in Hartford, CT this July. Hope to see you there!
