Three of the greatest superhero games ever made are being remastered for the Nintendo Switch, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight, as Batman: Arkham Trilogy. The rerelease will include the original three Rocksteady games, as well as all of the DLC costumes and expansions that were included in the original titles.
To celebrate the launch, DC has released the game’s official launch trailer. It’s a great walk through memory lane, or if you prefer…a walk through Arkham. Check it out.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch on December 1st, 2023.
Silent Hill Ascension Altering Broadcast Schedule November 20, 2023

Since launching on Halloween, Silent Hill: Ascension has kept to a nightly 9PM live broadcast time. Earlier today, following player feedback, developer Genvid has decided to alter their programming schedules, cutting weekend broadcasts.
Cutting weekend broadcasts of the game is not by definition a bad idea. Weekend evenings are typically a time when players may not be out or able to access the game from their smartphones or tablets.
Genvid has said this change will not affect the game’s story. They plan to either broadcast more scenes during the week to compensate or extend the schedule further to account for the lack of weekend broadcasts.
Silent Hill: Ascension has suffered from some growing pains as it launched. We’ve played nearly every night and even we can say we’ve had technical issues with the game. That’s probably because no game has ever been released through a method like this.
Silent Hill: Ascension is out now for PC, Android and iOS devices.

Twenty-five years ago, the original Half-Life was released on PC, and gaming was never the same. Following its release, the First Person Shooter genre became more immersive, with a greater focus on atmosphere and story to guide the player rather than forcing players to navigate maze-like environments.
To celebrate the anniversary the guys at Valve have done three incredible things. First, Half-Life is free to purchase and play on STEAM (for a limited time). Second, a massive patch has just been released for the game, with new multiplayer maps, new character skins and integration with the game’s Uplink demo levels. This update is free for anyone who has the game purchased on Steam.
Finally, Valve has released this high-quality television-length documentary about the making of the game. It includes interviews with the original game developers, reference photos, and early footage of the game. If you’re a fan of Valve or Half-Life, you need to watch this!
Half-Life is out now on PC.

Physical Retailers Finally Offering Meta Quest Gift Cards For Sale November 10, 2023

Christmas is a month and a half away, and with the rise of digital game marketplaces such as PlayStation Store or Steam, gift cards for credit in these storefronts are very useful gifts. Last year we lamented the fact that despite the popularity of the Meta Quest platform and the full backing of Facebook, we were unable to find Meta Quest Gift Cards for sale at any physical retailers. That issue seems to have been corrected.
We were happy to find these hanging up on the gift card shelves at our local Best Buy this past week.

Meta Quest gift cards are now being sold at physical retailers. This is great news as it gives people without credit cards the ability to buy games through their VR Headsets. They can be purchased at custom values ranging from $15-100 US.

Apple has just released a minor update for their personal devices. The new update, 17.1.1, has been released for iPhones and iPad that support iOS 17. The new update comes in with non descriptive bug fixes and optimizations, including a battery life improvement for Apple Watch with WatchOS 10.1.1.
The update weighs in, depending on your device, between 120-450MB in size. There does not appear to be an update for the Apple TV, and we have not tested if Apple has released a companion update for the Mac.

Nintendo has officially announced they are currently working with Hollywood producer Avi Arad to release a live-action Legend of Zelda film. Here’s the official press release.
There are no words. The recently released Super Mario Bros movie was an absolute masterpiece and it was clearly made to be that way because it had the guidance of people who were intimately familiar with the subject material. Now, we know that tradition will continue with this Zelda film.
Silent Hill: Ascension Episode 1 Premiered Last Night November 1, 2023

Last night, Konami and GenVid launched the first new Silent Hill game in ten years, Silent Hill Ascension. Billed as a community driven interactive adventure story, the game broadcasts live nightly, and the community is given the chance to collectively participate in the game’s decision points, as well as minigames and more.
If you happened to miss the live broadcast for whatever reason, don’t worry. The first episode was rereleased last night in several parts, and we decided to link them here.
Before the show started, the team held a live preshow through various streaming services and their dedicated application. It was hosted by Greg Miller, the host of WWE Network’s This is Awesome. In the preshow he gets to interview some of the game’s developers. Sadly, he could not get his interviewees to reveal any spoilers, but it was still a fun show to watch.
It would be cool to see this kind of community broadcast happen more frequently!
Next up, the episode aired in three parts. The first part directly followed the original decision point that was set up when the application launched earlier in the day, set up the show’s new characters, and returned us to the look of Silent Hill’s world. If you missed it, or want to hold a rewatch before the next episode goes live, check it out below.
New episodes are going to be posted daily at 9PM Eastern.
Silent Hill: Ascension is out now for PC, iOS and Android.
