You can now haz Recons in Halo 5: Guardians!  343 Industries has just released the Classic Helmet REQ Pack featuring nine of the most iconic helmets from across the Halo franchise all at once.

Bawls Announces Bawls Ginger February 9, 2017

Our favorite soda in the world is the high caffeinated beverage Bawls.  It has long been considered a staple of gamers’ diets with its great flavor and high caffeine content.  I can’t remember how many Bawls sodas I would drink during LAN parties, all night gaming sesssions, and PC builds.  As the years have gone on, Bawls has added new flavors to their product catalog including Bawls Cherry, Bawls Root Beer and Bawls Orange. Mobius Final Fantasy Released On PC February 8, 2017

The guys over at Square Enix have brought the free-to-play mobile game Mobius Final Fantasy to PC and you can download it right now for free through Steam.

To celebrate its release on PC and the upcoming release of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake, the developers are hosting an in-game Final Fantasy VII Remake event from now through April.  Players will be able to select exclusive missions tied directly to the FF7 universe and earn more in-game prizes as the event unfolds!

Mobius Final Fantasy is out now on PC, Android and iOS.

Halo Wars 2 Launch Trailer February 7, 2017

We’re a week and a half away from the release of Halo Wars 2 on Xbox One and Windows 10 and to celebrate, Microsoft has released this official launch trailer for the game.  If you’re out of the loop and don’t know what’s going on in this game’s story, this is a great trailer to peak your interest.  Enjoy.

Nintendo Switch Super Bowl Commercial February 6, 2017

Looks like Nintendo did it again by easily making the best commercial to air during this year’s Super Bowl.  This year, instead of showcasing Pokémon, Nintendo used their time slot during this year’s big game to show off their next console, the Nintendo Switch.

Final Fantasy Day – Memories of Mistarefusion February 5, 2017

Lance Rumowicz, known to the Internet as Mistarefusion, produces hilarious reviews of Super Sentai, Dragon Ball Z and the original Batman serials.  However, he has occasionally dabbled in talking about video games and one of his favorite game series to talk about is Final Fantasy.

Mistarefusion was one of the first content creators I saw provide his memories and analysis of a game, and his Final Fantasy Memories series was a big inspiration for me to host my Memories of Maniac video series.  It was great to not only hear him talk about the games, but to hear him describe what it was like at the time the games were released.

He started his videos by talking about his thoughts on Final Fantasy IV (II in the US), but he has gone back to talk about the other games in the series.  As of this writing, he has talked about every Final Fantasy game up to Final Fantasy VII, but he may update it with more game memories as time goes on.  Enjoy.

Final Fantasy Day – Derek Alexander Reviews February 5, 2017

Derek Alexander, host of Stop Skeletons From Fighting and The Happy Video Game Nerd has dabbled in his analysis of various Final Fantasy games over the years. His utter joy when talking about the games he’s reviewing is just infectious and I’m truely greatful to him for convincing me to check out some games I wouldn’t have played otherwise including Splatterhouse and Parasite Eve.

One of the first Happy Video Game Nerd videos I ever watched was his review of Final Fantasy Mythic Quest on the Super Nintendo (SNES).  This is a game most critics have panned for being too easy and simple, but Derek found a lot to like with this game and he did a great job sharing his thoughts on it.

The second video I wanted to feature is a part of his Gettin’ Super Nerdy series, where he compared the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy VII demo included with copies of Tobal No 1.  It’s amazing to see all the little differences Square made before releasing the finished game.  If you haven’t played this demo and you’ve wondered what an earlier version of FF7 would look like, give it a watch.

Final Fantasy Day – Unskippable February 5, 2017

Fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax probably find a lot to like with The Escapist’s Unskippable series.  Written and performed by Graham Stark and Paul Saunders, this irrepressible duo has been making me laugh ever since I saw their take on the opening of Dead Rising!

Unskippable prides themselves at poking fun at video game cutscenes, which sometimes could not be skipped. While these videos may seem a little inappropriate for today’s celebration, I think their humor overcomes my objections.

Over the years, they have produced Unskippable videos featuring many Final Fantasy games, and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you guys. First off, here’s their take on Final Fantasy XII.

Here was supposed to be their take on Final Fantasy XIII, but they accidently played Final Fantasy VI (III in US) instead!

Moving on to the second game in the Lightning Trilogy, Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Here’s their take on the opening of Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers.

Finally we’ve got the opening of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

Final Fantasy Day – Langsta’s Final Fantasy XV Recipes February 4, 2017

I’m a huge fan of TV channels like the Food Network. Not only do they show great cooking competitions, it can teach people how to cook, show all-new recipes and highlight some of the best places to eat. With that in mind, it’s not hard to see that part of the impact Final Fantasy XV has had with me is a desire to try to replicate the delicious meals the characters can create and eat in the game.

It looks like online chefs are currently hard at work trying to replicate Final Fantasy XV‘s dishes and I wanted to give a tip of my hat to YouTube Channel langsta.  In it, the host shows you how to create some of Final Fantasy XV‘s dishes, and gives his personal review on how it tastes. I know we can’t beam taste or smells through the Internet just yet it his dishes look just delicious!

Here are some of my favorite recipes on his channel.  First up is his Chili Con Carne recipe, first seen in an in-game restaurant, and the team’s attempted replication of it while camping.  I’ll let you decide which version you like better.

Ubiquitous gamer food Cup of Noodles features heavily in the game, so there’s several recipes that include it as a component.  So far, he devoted five videos to various Cup of Noodle recipes, but this was his first.

Next up is his attempt at improving a cup of noodles with some delicious meat.

And finally, I just want to say that I really like curry. I haven’t eaten it that much in my life, but a friend of mine really got me into Thai food, and I just love having curry while dining out. Here’s langsta’s take on Final Fantasy XV‘s Green Curry dish.

Final Fantasy Day – Spoony’s Final Fantasy X-2 Review February 4, 2017

Controversial internet reviewer Noah Antwiler, better known to the internet as The Spoony One, is a long-time fan of the Final Fantasy franchise.  Sadly, he has not been happy with the games since Final Fantasy VIII was released and he’s created some pretty angry video reviews of Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy XIII.  He looks at all the games with a critical eye, but what makes his earlier videos so great is his desire to satire a game’s content to the point his audience will laugh regardless of how much they agree or disagree with his points.  His videos were actually a major inspiration for me to start this website and eventually to look into playing the Final Fantasy franchise myself.

However, even though he hated plenty of Final Fantasy games, there is one game that Noah partially defended, and that was Final Fantasy X-2.  He actually applauded its efforts to try something new and different in a franchise that he believed was starting to feel stale, and while he didn’t like some of the game’s logic, he found himself enjoying several of the game’s moments he thought he was going to hate.

So without further ado, here’s his review of Final Fantasy X-2.  Just be aware, this review is going to be for mature audiences.
