iOS 11.3 Released March 29, 2018

Apple has released a major update for iOS 11 compatible devices. The new update, iOS 11.3, weighs in at over 700 MB and includes bug fixes and new features.

The most important new feature in iOS 11.3 is a battery saver function which will enable or disable battery throttling based on the age of your device. The feature is currently in beta testing and should only be used at your own risk.

You can download the update right now using your device’s software update feature or through iTunes.

New Challenges Culminating in Catching Mew Coming to Pokemon Go March 27, 2018

Niantic made a major Pokémon Go announcement early this week, all new features and challenges are coming to Pokémon Go and players will be able to keep track of them to earn in-game rewards! The challenges can be completed by doing something ranging from capturing a Pokémon to winning a raid battle.

People are going nuts for this announcement because it means giving Pokémon Go something that it never had before, a story. It also has the potential to revive the waining Pokémon Go playerbase which are frustrated by the game’s instability and lack of a continuous challenge.

Pokken Tournament DX DLC Battle Pack 2 Released March 27, 2018

Last week, Nintendo released the second DLC in their two-part battle pack for Pokkén Tournament DX. It contains an all new playable Pokémon in the form of Blastoise, as well as a new set of assistant Pokémon. Take a look!

You’ll need to update your game to version 1.3.0 to use the new DLC. If you already purchased the first DLC Battle Pack as a bundle, you won’t need to pay any extra for this pack.

Pokkén Tournament DX is out now on the Nintendo Switch.

Detective Pikachu Launch Trailer March 23, 2018

Detective Pikachu launched on the Nintendo 3DS earlier today and to celebrate, Nintendo released this official launch trailer for the game. Check it out, but be aware it does reveal some of the game’s plot and setpieces.

God of War in a Single Shot March 21, 2018

We’re a month away from the release of God of War for the PS4, and Sony has continued to release previews of the highly-anticipated game. Today, they’re showcasing the game’s cinematic style. Its going to be exceptionally important because the game’s developers intend for God of War to be one continuous game with absolutely no cuts, not even in cinematics. How will they do this? Watch and find out.

Detective Pikachu TV Commercial March 21, 2018

Nintendo just released this new commercial for Detective Pikachu, the newest Pokémon spin off game coming to the Nintendo 3DS. It doesn’t show any actual game footage, but I have to admit it does look pretty cool and it gives a teaser to the game’s story. Take a look.

15 Minutes of God of War on PS4 March 20, 2018

We’re a month away from the release of God of War on the PlayStation 4, and the PlayStation Underground has released a preview of the game. This is a treat, because get to see fifteen minutes of actual live gameplay from the game. The players skip around a bit but it shows a great diversity of what looks to be some of the early parts of the game. This may not be God of War as we remember it, but this certainly looks like God of War.

Remedy Working with DirectX Raytracing March 19, 2018

With games like Max Payne, Quantum Break, and Alan Wake under their belts, every game developer Remedy has released has had its own unique style. At this year’s GDC, Remedy is showcasing some new experiments they’re doing with DirectX raytracing. Take a look at the visual possibilities we may see in Remedy’s next game!

God of War PS4 TV Commercial March 19, 2018

Tonight’s episode of Family Guy aired without commercial interruption. Before and after that show was broadcasted, this 60-second commercial for the highest-anticipated PS4 game of the year, God of War. Take a look:

I have to admit, this was a great call on behalf of the advertisers. I can personally attest many of the same people who watch Family Guy will also own PS4s and be interested in this game.

Detroit: Become Human Release Date March 16, 2018

We had the pleasure of previewing Detroit: Become Human at Sony’s E3 2017 booths few months ago. The game had a unique art style but still featured the familiar mechanics from earlier titles by Quantic Dreams. Earlier this week, the game’s development studio finally announced the highly-anticipated game’s release date. To celebrate, Sony released this trailer:
