Control 1.03 Update Patch Notes September 10, 2019

Since its launch, Remedy’s Control suffered from multiple bugs and issues, even after the release of the Day 1 Patch. Remedy has listened to those issues and released what they’re calling the “September Update” to the game with an incredible amount of fixes focused on game stability and performance. Here’s the complete list:

General

  • Bug and crash fixes to missions, combat and overall game play
  • Fixed multiple issues with the PC launcher related to DX11/DX12 crashes

UI

  • Improved map loading times (map will no longer tease information)
  • Motion Blur On/Off toggle added to Options menu
  • Film Grain On/Off toggle added to Options menu
  • Fixed incorrect UI behaviour on ultra-wide monitors (PC)
  • Fixed multiple issues when incorrect subtitles are shown for multiple languages
  • Fixed issue when the game centers the aim on Jesse’s head
  • Fixed multiple UI related issues

Progression

  • Fixed an issue when player could not acquire ‘Pierce Charging Efficiency’ and ‘Spin Grouping Efficiency’ upgrade
  • Fixed issue when Crafting Charge and personal Mods would not give the Weapon/Mod but take the materials (Sorry. The Board was greedy)
  • Fixed issue that prevented players activating the Pierce weapon form upgrade
  • Fixed issue when Jesse is unable to cleanse the ‘Transit Corridor South’ Control point upon returning from Prime Candidate Program area in the mission The Face of the Enemy
  • Fixed an issue when Heptonstall would not spawn during certain story missions in the “Old Friends” side-mission (still looking for his buddy Remus)
  • Fixed issue when Hiss Barrier remains in the Directorial Override mission’s Control Room if the player dies during the binding cut scene

Sound

  • Fixed issue when certain licensed music tracks play after enabling the ‘Mute Copyrighted Tracks’ option
  • Fixed and issue when audio is out of sync in the Dr Darling videos (PS4)

Misc

  • Fixed issue with the Charge weapon forms erroneous blast radius causing (way) too much visual damage to the environments
  • Fixed an issue where game would stall when completing a story mission and unlocking a trophy (PS4)

Performance

  • Improved title stability on all platforms
  • Improved general frame-rate performance through optimisations made to multiple systems and content

Control is out now for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. The September patch is currently out now for the PS4 and it is coming very soon to the Xbox One and PC.

Those who long for the classic days of bringing your Game Boy Advance over to your GameCube owning friend’s house to play a multiplayer game with link cables are going to be very happy. At TGS 2019, Square Enix has just revealed one of the original games that took advantage of that incredible feature is getting rereleased on modern consoles and now we have its official release date. Check out the new trailer!

Decisions, decisions. Do I get the Switch version out of the loyalty to the original Nintendo GameCube release or do I get the PS4 version due to the fact all the other Final Fantasy games came out for that platform?

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is coming January 20th, 2020 to PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Super Nintendo Games Added to Nintendo Switch September 6, 2019

As promised in the recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has brought an incredible amount of Super Nintendo games onto the Nintendo Switch! Which games are up right now? Here’s just a few!

  • Star Fox

Seems like a good smattering of some of the best games from the system’s library mixed with a few lesser known titles. A few games are missing from that list, like Star Fox 2, that had previously appeared in the Super Nintendo Classic, but new Super Nintendo games could get unlocked on the platform every month!

To play these games you must have an active Nintendo Network account, which is currently priced at $20 US a year. You can download the Super Nintendo app on the Nintendo Switch eShop at no charge.

Gears 5‘s launch may have brought down Xbox Live so here’s some emotional support for players eagerly anticipating its return. The promotional team behind Gears 5 took over a London tattoo shop to tattoo devoted fans of the Gears of War franchise. It’s a long video which previews the game’s campaign, arcade mode and multiplayer. Enjoy!

Microsoft is releasing the Ultimate Edition and Game Pass versions of Gears 5 within the next 24 hours (depending on your region) and to kick off their huge celebration of that launch here’s the game’s official launch trailer!

Gears 5 is out September 6th, 2019 for the Xbox One and PC.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Banjo and Kazooie Preview September 4, 2019

Banjo & Kazooie, the iconic duo fondly remembered from the Nintendo 64 game, are coming as playable characters to the game Super Smash Bros Ultimate as paid DLC. Today, following the Nintendo Direct presentation, the game director of Super Smash Bros Ultimate gave a preview of how these characters will play when the characters are released. Take a look!

Nintendo released an all-new Nintendo Direct this evening and in it they show off new game footage from Luigi’s Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword and Shield, and reveal some previously unannounced games! If you wanted to know anything about what’s coming to the Switch you need to start watching this right now.

Some exclusive demos and new games have just started getting released on the Nintendo Switch eShop since this video was posted so make sure to start checking your Switch for updates!

The Suits of Spider-Man PS4 September 3, 2019

Sony has just re-released a Game of the Year Edition for year’s best game, Spider-Man on the PS4 and to celebrate that relaunch they released this new trailer featuring a look at all the different Spider-Man suits you’ll be able to wear in the game. Previously, some of these suits were only available to players who purchased the game’s DLC campaign The City that Never Sleeps but since that DLC is included with the Game of the Year Edition, all owners of this edition of the game will have access to these suits. Take a look at this new trailer and see for yourselves how good you can look!
