Got some enormous news for you guys today! The Halo franchise has included some of the finest games that have ever been made, and now those games are coming to the PC through Steam and Games for Windows. Earlier today, Microsoft and 343 Industries announced Halo: The Master Chief Collection is going to be ported to PC. Originally released on the Xbox One, The Master Chief Collection included all of the numbered Halo games from Halo: Combat Evolved through Halo 4.

The biggest news I can reveal about this version of the game is it will also include Halo 3: ODST (which is DLC on the Xbox One) AND Halo creator Bungie’s Final Halo game, Halo: Reach. Microsoft says they’re going to release the PC game in stages, with Halo: Reach coming to the PC first, and the rest of the games in the Halo series coming out in the order of their original release.

I can’t say how happy I am to read this announcement. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the enhancements that will be coming to The Master Chief Collection, and to play Halo: Reach on the Xbox One on this updated game engine. This will likely make a LOT of PC gamers happy, as PC-only gamers have been requesting Microsoft port classic Halo games to the PC for years now. Halo: Combat Evolved got a PC port in 2003, and playing it for the first time that year turned me into the Halo fan I am today. Halo 2, my favorite game of the franchise, got a PC port in 2006 but received very poor sales due to its requirement of the terrible Windows Vista operating system. Since then, major Halo releases remained console only, despite the demand from PC players for great FPS games.

The single-player and firefight components of Halo: Reach will be coming to the Xbox One version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection as Premium DLC. The other multiplayer components of it will be added to the game free of charge.

This news really makes me feel like celebrating. Maybe I could host a live stream of the Xbox One version of the game next week? Who’s down for some old school Halo?

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is coming soon to PC and is out now on Xbox One.

DISSIDIA Final Fantasy NT has had a rough start since it initially launched as a PS4 exclusive game. We enjoyed previewing it during our trip to E3 2017 but became frustrated with the game around the time it launched a public beta test. Having a low player count can be a difficult thing for a multiplayer fighting game to overcome, and Square Enix has made a big decision about that. Starting today, Square Enix is offering a Free-To-Play version of DISSIDIA: Final Fantasy NT on PS4 and Steam. The free version is multiplayer compatible with the full retail release and will offer a rotating roster of playable characters (similar to Killer Instinct on the Xbox One).

Steam and PS4 players will be able to upgrade the free version of the game to the full retail release for a one time fee. PS4 players will require PlayStation Plus accounts to play the Free version of the game online.

DISSIDIA Final Fantasy NT is out now for the PC and PS4.
