Players who boot up their Xbox One systems will find a pretty hefty patch ready to download when they start their copy of Halo 5: Guardians.

A whole new slew of features have been added in this patch including new armor customizations, new Forge content, and the new ability to gift Gold REQ Packs!

That’s right, players now have the opportunity to gift Gold REQ packs to other players, and to show how it works every player who patches their game will be given a free Gold REQ Pack they can give to anyone they want!  Just be aware that with the exception of the initial giftable Gold Pack, only Gold Packs purchased with actual money can be gifted to other players.

The new update will download automatically the next time you start your game and will weigh in at over 7GB, even if you had the previously most recent update installed.

Halo 5: Guardians is out now exclusively on the Xbox One.

And if that’s not awesome enough, here’s footage of the father of Mario, Shigeru Miyamoto, performing the Super Mario Bros theme with The Roots.

Since it was first announced at E3 this year, the Club Ubi website has offered a PC game for free every month for the past seven months, and now that promotion is drawing to a close.  This week, Ubisoft has begun to offer the final free PC game through their Club Ubi promotion, the multiplatform hit Assassin’s Creed III.

If you want to get Assassin’s Creed III for free on PC, you only need a Ubisoft account and the Uplay client installed on your PC to play.  Simply log in at the Club Ubi website and tell it you want the free game.  Once you’ve done that, Assassin’s Creed III should show up in the games library of your Uplay client within no time.  As with all games offered through Club Ubi, as long as you redeem your game during the free promotion it will perminantly stay on your Uplay account.

This month will ring in the end of the Club Ubi giveaways, but this has been a great promotion.  Make sure to get your game as soon as you can, because its only going to be offered for a month!

Assassin’s Creed III is out now on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
