Continuing our Halo Week coverage as we get closer to the release of Halo 5: Guardians, Maniac and his guest diskreader117 talk about another Halo game which was released this year, Halo: Spartan Strike, and the game it is a sequel to, Halo: Spartan Assault.  While Halo: Spartan Assault was originally only released on Windows 8 PCs and portable devices, it would eventually get a release on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.  It’s sequel, Halo: Spartan Assault, has not seen a console release but thankfully it did get ported, along with Spartan Assault, on the iOS platform this year, and that’s what we’re going to be talking about.

Are the games worth a download on your SmartPhone or Tablet?  Let’s take a look.

Halo Week is far from over, everybody.  Expect more video content each day.  Tomorrow, we’ll be talking about Halo 5‘s #HuntTheTruth campaign.

Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike are available right now on Windows 8, Windows 10, iOS and Android platforms.  Halo: Spartan Assault is also playable on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

In this video we talk about what we thought of the series itself, if we prefer the episodic or theatrical cut, and give our thoughts on the Halo Channel app it was released though.

If this isn’t enough Halo content for you, do not worry because Halo Week has barely begun.  Tomorrow, we’ll be talking about the other Halo game which has already been released this year, Halo: Spartan Strike on Android, iOS and Windows 10 platforms.

I’ve got big news for you guys.  We’re a month away from the Xbox One release of Halo 5: Guardians, making 2015 one of the biggest years in Halo history. Because of that, Maniac and diskreader117 decided to team up to talk about Halo‘s impact over the past year. It turns out there was a lot of Halo to go around, we ended up discussing more than just what our expectations were for Halo 5, we also talked about Halo: The Master Chief Collection‘s state one year after it was released, the release of Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike on iOS, Halo Nightfall, the upcoming Halo TV series, Halo Wars 2, and a lot more. In fact, we talked so much we’re going to release this conversation over the course of a whole week, and because of that we are officially dubbing this week The Week of Halo on GameXcess.net!

To kick this all off, we’re going to break some big Halo 5: Guardians news. Earlier this month, Microsoft released the opening cinematic for Halo 5, where it detailed Spartan Locke and his team going into battle. However, Locke’s team is only half of the story of Halo 5, you’ll also be playing as series hero Master Chief, and he has a team of his own. Here’s the official opening cinematic for Blue Team.

Halo 5: Guardians is coming October 2015 exclusively on the Xbox One.

Star Fox Zero was shown at this year’s E3 and it quickly became one of my most anticipated games that would be coming to the Wii U.  I have great memories playing Star Fox 64, heck I even liked Star Fox Adventures for the GameCube, so it was great to see a new game in the Star Fox universe being made exclusively for the Wii U console.

The game was expected to release later this year. Sadly, Nintendo has just confirmed that Star Fox Zero has been delayed and will not see a release this year.  The game’s developers have confirmed in an official announcement that they simply require more time to further polish the game.  Really sad to hear this news, but I’m sure it’s for the best.

Star Fox Zero is coming Q1 2016 exclusively on the Wii U.
