Halo 4 Spartan Ops E3 2012 Gameplay Trailer June 5, 2012

The most anticipated feature I am looking forward to in the upcoming game Halo 4 is the newest feature this game is bringing to the Halo franchise, the Spartan Ops mode.

Pegged as an entirely separate cooperative campaign from the main story, the Spartan Ops game follows the story of Majestic Squad, operating out of the UNSC Infinity.  They’re investigating a separate portion of the planet Requiem, the same planet that Master Chief finds himself on in this new game.  The mode itself will support anywhere from one to four players.

Spartan Ops will launch its first episode alongside Halo 4.  After that new episodes will be released through Xbox Live for free to Halo 4 owners.  Spartan Ops is designed to bridge the gap between the stories of Halo 4 and the eventual Halo 5, and new episodes will be released up to Halo 5’s eventual release.

This trailer was not shown at the Microsoft E3 Media Briefing, but it is being shown on the E3 show floor.  Enjoy!

Halo 4 is coming November 6th, 2012 exclusive to Xbox 360.

Dead Space 3 E3 2012 Trailer, Co-Op Announced June 5, 2012

Dead Space 3 was announced at the EA E3 2012 Press Conference and was the very first game shown.  I can think of no better way to set the scene as the way that EA chose to set the scene, by showing this trailer.

Issac Clark and Ellie believe they have found The Source, the planet where The Markers have come from.  The planet is frozen solid and who knows what dangers are on the planet itself.  During the turbulent landing, Issac Clarke and Ellie are separated, and it is unknown if she had survived.  However, Clarke and Ellie didn’t enter the planet alone, they took with them private mercenary John Carver, and together, Clark and Carver must investigate the planet, find Ellie and stop the Necromorph outbreak once and for all.

But wait, Issac is not alone.  He has always been alone through every previous Dead Space game.  Well, this game is going to have cooperative play.  John Carver will be playable during the game’s single player campaign, allowing a second player to drop in and drop out and assist during the game.  In fact, that was the gameplay that was demoed live at the EA E3 2012 Press Conference.

Dead Space 3 is coming February 2013 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

Probably the most anticipated PS3 exclusive game at Sony’s E3 2012 Media Briefing was the game that Sony gave the honor of showing last.  The Last of Us, a new game done by Naughty Dog, the creators of the highly successful Uncharted series, premiered at the Spike TV VGAs in December 2011 and has been on our radars ever since.

In the game, a fungal infection that normally only dangerous to insects and has the ability to take control of its host like a parasite, has become dangerous to humans.  Now with a major outbreak, the cities are in quarantine and locked off by military force.  Anyone going in or out must submit to checkpoints for screening.  However, the people inside those quarantined areas are pretty much on their own to fend for themselves.

Well, for the first time, we’re being shown actual gameplay, take a look for yourselves!

The Last of Us is coming exclusive to the Playstation 3.

BEYOND E3 2012 Announcement Trailer June 4, 2012

Quantic Dream’s latest game has finally been unveiled.

Director David Cage personally introduced his company’s newest game for the Playstation 3 as the first game previewed at Sony’s E3 2012 Media Briefing, BEYOND.  Right off the heels of releasing 2010’s PS3-exclusive sleeper hit Heavy Rain and the KARA Demo at this year’s GDC, comes a whole new game.

It seems that Quantic Dream is once again dabbling in the realm of supernatural.  In the game you play as Jody Holmes (played by Ellen Page) who has established a mental connection with a spirit.  In the game, we follow Jody through many years of her life, which is a highly unique concept for a video game.

It really seems like once again they are bringing something new and fresh to the table.  The following is a scene that Cage stated comes early on in the game.  All footage is real-time running on the Playstation 3’s hardware.

David Cage promises that this game will focus more on action than Heavy Rain did.  He also promises that we will have full control of Jody as well as the spirit over the course of the game.  From just watching the trailer it does appear that Jody has supernatural powers that can be used as a part of gameplay, but David Cage would not go into specifics about what would be available to the player just now.

BEYOND is coming exclusive to the Playstation 3.

Probably the most anticipated game at the Ubisoft E3 2012 Media Briefing was the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed III. With a new protagonist and a new time period, this game looked to be the breath of fresh air that will bring a lot of gamers and game critics into the series.

The game will cover over thirty years of history. You’ll play multiple sides in multiple different wars. Your enemies are, and always have been first and foremost, the Templars, the main enemies in the Assassin’s Creed series.

Without further ado, I present to you the official E3 2012 trailer.

But you guys don’t want to see just a prerendered cinematic. You want to see the game. Well, it was played live, and here is that demo.

Assassin’s Creed III is coming October 30th, 2012 to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

A long time ago I asked the question just what had happened to Cyberpunk?  Formerly a staple of the video game genre in the late 90s, the industry had shifted back and forth over the console generations and Cyberpunk seemed to have been left in the dust.

Recently however, a new series of Cyberpunk games have been slowly returning to the forefront of new games.  It seems now like it hasn’t died, it’s just been reimagined for a whole new world with all new technological capabilities.

As the last game shown at the Ubisoft E3 2012 Media Briefing, Ubisoft started up by giving us a little history lesson.

With all that knowledge in mind, meet Aiden Pierce.

Wow, that was NOT the ending that was seen at the end of the Ubisoft Briefing.  At the end of the briefing, we saw the game’s perspective switch to what appeared to be another player.  His orders were to protect the protagonist.  As the camera panned out it looked as if more players were inside the city and they were there to help as well.  Then, everything went dark.

UPDATE:  Here is the complete uncut presentation.

UPDATE 2: Watch Dogs is coming in 2013.

The UbiSoft E3 2012 Media Briefing has just concluded and for the second time today, Splinter Cell Blacklist has been shown.  After the real-time demo at the Microsoft E3 2012 Briefing, UbiSoft decided to show the game’s official trailer at their Media Briefing, which has some major tidbits for the new game.

Third Echelon is now gone, and Sam with the help of Grim has become a part of a whole new group, which Sam is now in charge in.  A blacklist has been created by a group of rogue terrorist organizations, with promises to hit major targets unless the United States withdraws their troops from the wars they are currently fighting.

Only Sam Fisher can stop them.  Welcome to Fourth Echelon.

UPDATE:  Without further ado, here’s the direct feed of the preview that was shown at Microsoft’s E3 2012 Media Briefing.

Um…where is Michael Ironside’s voice?

UPDATE:  Okay, here he is.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist is coming Spring 2012 to Xbox 360.  Kinect functionality supported.

A shortened version of this trailer was released today at the Microsoft E3 2012 Briefing.  Developed by People Can Fly, the developers behind the cross-platform Unreal Engine 3 powered game Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgement will be the next major game in the Gears of War series, and from the looks of it the protagonists of this game have been switched.

For your pleasure, here is the full extended trailer.

Halo 4 E3 2012 Trailer June 4, 2012

Halo 4 kicked off the Microsoft E3 2012 Briefing this year and I want to reveal it on this site the same way that Microsoft revealed it at the press conference.  No pre-show introduction, just this opening trailer as the house lights went up and the video feed started.

And now, on to the gameplay.

From the looks of it, a lot of what the fans have predicted seemed to be coming to fold.  Cortana is on the brink of rampancy and may start to lose her sanity.  The UNSC Infinity, which is where the game’s multiplayer is going to take place got one hell of an introduction.

The UNSC Assault Rifle is back, as well as Halo 2’s 3-shot Battle Rifle.  But what is most interesting is the game’s new Forerunner weapons.  Has anyone noticed a major similarity between the Forerunnner Lightrifle and a sniper weapon that the Covenant’s Jackals used?  It’s obvious that they’re playing up the fact that the Covenant appropriated their weapon technology from the Forerunners, but like with any forged copies its quite possible that the Covenant’s may not have been as powerful as the original.

Halo 4 is coming November 6th, 2012 exclusive to the Xbox 360.
