Nintendo has just released Pokemon Champions, a Pokemon battle focused free-to-play game. When connected to Pokemon Bank, the game allows you to use supported Pokemon you’ve collected from other games (such as Pokemon Go) and use them for online ranked battles! Check out the opening video below:
You may want to get your Pokemon Bank account in order before installing the game. Since Champions’s launch we can attest to performance slowdowns in the Bank which may add to transfer times.
Pokemon Champions is out now for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

An important update has just been released for the Pokemon Home application on Nintendo Switch and Mobile. The new update adds support for Pokemon Legends Z-A. Anyone who transfers Pokemon into HOME from that game will receive some free exclusive Pokemon they can transfer back into their game!
We were able to update our devices as of this morning, but due to ongoing maintenance on the HOME servers, they are currently limiting user access while the maintenance is being performed.
Pokemon Home is out now for Android/iOS and Nintendo Switch/Switch 2.

The rumors were true, Nintendo has just confirmed they’ve ported the Generation 1 Remakes, Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen, to the Nintendo Switch and will be releasing them on the eShop as standalone games.
I’m excited for this news. I have no love for the subscription-based legacy games service that Nintendo has been forcing upon Switch owners since shortly after its release. I preferred the previous Virtual Console from platforms such as the Wii, Wii U and 3DS. The fact that Nintendo chose to release the Gen1 remakes through this model indicates a willingness to consider providing future Pokémon titles through the same method.
Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen is coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop February 26th, 2026.
