Yesterday, Netflix released all ten episodes of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, our most anticipated Netflix content this year based upon the game Cyberpunk 2077. The release of that show has literally opened the dam on a whole bunch of incredible Cyberpunk news
First up, the team at Weirdco, responsible for the Cyberpunk 2077 TCG which is just about to enter its retail phase, held an eight-hour stream yesterday where influencers from all over the world were invited to play the retail game. If you would like to give the event a watch, we’ve embedded it below.
During the stream, Weirdco made the announcement that Burn Bright, an expansion based upon the Edgerunners series, will be the name of the second wave of the Cyberpunk 2077 TCG, and the art looks PHENOMENAL!

Second, the team at CDPR, responsible for the multiplatform video game Cyberpunk 2077 that so much of these announcements are based on, will be releasing a free update they’re calling the “Edgerunners 2” 2.5 patch on the 22nd. Details on the full contents of the update can be read here, and we’ve got new features, new missions, new music, and a dual-wielding option to be coming to the game. The update will be pushed to PC/Mac through Steam/GOG, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 editions of the game first, followed shortly by the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store editions. If you’d like to see a more detailed description of all the enhancements, check out today’s livestream of the new patch!
But what is the news from Cyberpunk’s creator, R. Talsorian Games? At midnight last night, they released a highly anticipated actual play of Cyberpunk RED which was filmed during this past year’s Origins Game Fair. The event is GM’ed by Mike Pondsmith, and the players are made up of the real-life voice cast of Cyberpunk Edgerunners season 1!
Well, in just a few days, our most anticipated Cyberpunk product this year, the story-based card game Cyberpunk Legends will be launching.

Set in 2012, Cyberpunk Legends will allow a maximum of four players, each of a different class, to work together to overcome four story-based scenarios. After several manufacturing delays, the game is currently expected to start shipping, first to Kickstarter backers and then to your Friendly Local Game Shops on October 25th, 2026. The team behind it, Night Crew Games, have confirmed that RTG will be releasing this month’s free DLC to complement the characters from Legends and allow them to be brought into the world of Cyberpunk RED 2045.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is out now for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Mac, and Switch 2.

Cyberpunk TCG Beta Event Review September 22, 2026

Since its record-breaking Kickstarter concluded, the team over at Weirdco have been preparing the official Cyberpunk 2077 Trading Card Game for its wide release. I can personally verify that full packs of BETA cards are safely in the hands of the Kickstarter backers, and I’m happy to reveal that your friendly local tabletop shop (FLGS) may be ready to sell booster packs and starter decks to the curious masses!
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending an early access Beta event for the game at AKIBA Underground in Clinton, CT. Everyone who participated in the paid event got an exclusive Beta box with a set of six dice, three randomly marked Legends, six 12-card beta Booster Packs, and an exclusive Mantis Blades Beta Promo Card!
Attendance was limited, as the Beta Event Packs were in heavy demand, but I checked with the store in advance and received approval to attend. I had to create an account with the website melee.gg and provide them my user handle before they would allow me to play, but it was not a difficult process from my smartphone. In fact, the Cyberpunk TCG website allows you to link your player account to your melee.gg account to make that process more convenient.
If you’d like to get a better idea of what the store looked like and how the event went, we recorded some footage (with permission from the organizers) and highlighted some of our pulls!
Once the boxes were passed out, players were given time to open them, inspect their pulls, and build their decks. Since this was a beta, we were only allowed to use the cards that we pulled from our boxes, but we were not restricted to build our decks around the specific colors of our random attached legend cards. We were also allowed to use the Mantis Blades promo card if we chose to do so.
We each were assigned an opponent through the website, and each round was a best-of-three. We ended up having two total rounds, as they did not do eliminations, and the event wrapped upon the closing time of the store. I ended up losing both of my matches, but I take full responsibility for that. I still did not have a decent grasp of the rules prior to arriving at the store, and I refused to use any rare cards I pulled to build my deck.
In my opinion, the Beta Event was a rousing success! It brought awareness to the game for existing TCG players who were unfamiliar with Cyberpunk, and gave plenty of Kickstarter backers the chance to have their first Friday Night Firefight! After the event wrapped, I did have some recommendations I’m happy to share with everyone:
- If you have access to a streaming TV at your venue, show the official How to Play video just before the event starts. For many, this was the first time they would EVER be playing the game, and I admit even with a cheat sheet I was confused about the rules during my first game.
- Continuing with that the streaming video theme it would be great to have some ambience running the background during matches. This could be in the form of retro new wave or even ambient atmosphere.
The Cyberpunk TCG is expected to begin a full launch in October. It is expected that regular tournaments will begin shortly after. Make sure to check with your local FLGS if they are participating. If you’re enjoying our dabbles into tabletop gaming, please post a comment below. We’d be happy to have more discussion about this subject if there’s more interest!

I’ve recently become obsessed with Cyberpunk RED, the original Pen and Paper RPG that served as the prequel to the multiplatform hit Cyberpunk 2077. After picking up a copy of the game’s core rulebook (CR3001), perspective GMs may be itching to learn more game mechanics and scenarios, and perspective players may be interested in new weapons and gear. I’ve got great news for both of you!
The game’s publisher, R. Talsorian Games, have released a free DLC expansion EVERY month since 2020. They have added more than just the ability to reprint character sheets, players can download information about new weapons and cyberware, and Game Masters can also get detailed rules for how to predict weather, handle dating, or witness a roller derby! So let’s take a closer look at what is out there, and what you can do with it!
You can find a complete list of all available DLC for Cyberpunk RED and other games from R. Talsorian Games here. These DLC are completely canon, and you are welcome to bring them to the table alongside your character if your GM allows it!
If you’re interested in playing Cyberpunk RED, check with your friendly local tabletop shop!

Cyberpunk 2077 has been setting the video game landscape on fire since the release of its Phantom Liberty expansion several years ago. Based on the iconic tabletop RPG Cyberpunk, created by Mike Pondsmith, the game, and its anime expansion Cyberpunk Edgerunners, featured legendary characters gamers identified with, and many of us have longed for a way to return to Night City in 2077. That return will come on the form of the Cyberpunk TCG.
Once launched, this officially licensed TCG will release in booster packs similar to games like Magic: The Gathering and will feature cards with the art and likenesses of many of the iconic characters from the iconic video game. So how do you play this game? Here are the rules:
If you’re interested in learning more about the game you can check out their official website. If you’re interested in funding the game, you can back it on their Kickstarter page! As of the time of posting the game has met its minimum funding goal, with just under $14.5 million dollars backing it! There’s still plenty of time to back the game. The developers have promised if they reach $15 million dollars in funding, they will provide an exclusive promo card of the character of Lucy (foil and non foil) to backers.
