I’ve noticed more and more over the years that there is a scale that has been tipped against consumers. There is a huge disparity in what are supposed to be independent online review scores. Nowadays, game review scores have nothing to do with how good a game actually is. Why are so many good games receiving mediocre to bad reviews, whereas some games that are nothing special can get perfect scores?
Nowadays, so many major gaming sites which peg themselves as independent are owned by media conglomerates which in some cases also own the companies that make the games these sites are reviewing! These sites are financially dependant on receiving money from advertising the video games they plan to review! I’m sure you’re wondering as I have, how can you keep an objective perspective under these conditions?
When I first created this site my intention was to remain completely independent. By choosing to remain independent, as far as I’m concerned, the only people I’m answering to is you, the readers, and that’s the way I think it should be.
If you feel as I do about this and want to contribute to the site, I have added this Amazon wish list, with a whole bunch of stuff I’d like to review or comment on but obviously can’t due to cost. You wouldn’t be under any obligation to even look at the list, but I could assure you that I would happily unbox and video review anything sent to me for the site.
