The guys over at Square Enix are doing something really unique to promote the latest Tomb Raider game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. They’re teaming up with Coca-Cola to host a one-night-only film event for an original documentary film Making of a Tomb Raider. In it, a special guest Clair Marie will show fans what it would take to accomplish everything Lara Croft does in the real world. Here’s the official trailer.

The film will be shown one night only on September 12th. You can check which of your local cinemas will be showing it on the official website.

I have to say that I would normally be all in on events like this, regardless if I was a fan of the property of not. However, special events like this have traditionally been done in the past completely free of charge, and I’m confused as to why they are charging people for tickets to this event, especially with Coke being listed as a major sponsor. Anyone who attends the movie will get access to an exclusive piece of DLC in the final version of the game.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is coming September 2018 to PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Niantic has announced a major update is in the works for Pokémon Go that will bring players the mythical Pokémon Celebi. Unless you got a Celebi during Pokémon Go Fest 2018, you won’t be able to find this Pokémon in the wild. Instead, you’ll need to perform specific research tasks starting August 20th. Players who already have Celebi can still complete the tasks, only completing them will unlock candy.

Players who haven’t caught Mew yet shouldn’t worry as the research tasks to obtain Mew will not be removed. However you will need to make some progress in your Mew research before you can start the research tasks for Celebi. You can learn all the details about the event here.

Pokémon Go is out now for Android and iOS Tablets and SmartPhones.

Hot off the heels of publishing the last episode, Sega has published the latest episode of their ongoing documentary series What is Shenmue? Today, they’re focusing on the gameplay, or to be specific, the combat and mini games. You’ll learn a lot about how to fight, where the game’s fighting engine comes from and what kind of minigames you’ll be able to play in game.

Anybody else want a soft drink?

Shenmue I & II is coming later this month to the PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Gaming website IGN seems to have gotten their hands on the latest Spider-Man PS4 trailer, and its really good. For the first time ever we get a great look at some of the famous landmarks (real and not so real) that you’ll be able to visit in the game, and a taste of the great writing for the game. Sadly, it’s not in 4K, but hey it’s IGN, you really can’t expect quality from them.

UPDATE: We’ve replaced the lousy IGN embed with a superior 4K version of the trailer courtesy of the Official PlayStation YouTube Channel.

Spider-Man is coming September 7th, 2018 exclusively to the PS4.

Sega has released the second part of their ongoing documentary series about the history of their iconic franchise, Shenmue. It’s a great way for new players to be brought up to speed on the game’s universe and a great refresher for older fans who are eagerly anticipating the re-release. In this part, they’re going to talk about the game’s characters.

As someone who hasn’t been able to play the original games all I can say is this game cannot get here soon enough.

Shenmue I & II are coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 later this month.

Spider-Man PS4 Launch Trailer August 14, 2018

We are less than a month away from the launch of the currently most anticipated PS4 exclusive game, Spider-Man. To celebrate, Sony, Insomniac and Marvel have released this incredible launch trailer. Seriously, how good is it? This looks like it could be the trailer for a new Spider-Man film! Enjoy.

I’m a little disappointed to see that no one is currently hosting this trailer in 4K, despite the fact that most Spider-Man PS4 trailers released since 2017 have been in 4K. I talked to Insomniac yesterday about that and they told me they expected their master video files to be in 4K but they weren’t sent to them in 4K, so the fact this video is HD only may be an error. People from the UK may notice this trailer is the same one that was shown in UK cinemas.

Spider-Man is coming September 7th, 2018 exclusively to the PlayStation 4.
