In the second how to video I’m doing for this holiday season, I’m going to show you how to properly hook up a Nintendo Wii to a High-Definition Television. This is a lot easier than it is for the Xbox 360 because the Wii has fewer options, but there will still be a few things you will need to do in order to have it working properly.

The long promised third official gameXcess.net podcast has been released. I know I had talked about getting this done over a week ago on the twitter feed, but the preperation time for the podcast was a bit longer than I had expected.
It’s a hefty podcast, clocking in at over an hour and twenty minutes in length, my longest podcast to date. The reason for the extra length of the podcast is because I talked about more than just personal anecdotes involving the God of War game series, I also talk about the game’s history. There have been five games (with two bundled HD re-releases) over the past six years. There was A LOT to talk about.

While I had the Kinect still hooked up I decided to check out the demo for the latest release from Twisted Pixel, The Gunstringer. This Kinect exclusive game has you controlling a marionette with a six-shooter as he tries to get revenge from the colorful characters that wronged him, including the dreaded Tube Man.
Someone call Al Harrington.
The Gunstringer is out now for Xbox 360. Kinect required.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Kinect Library Feature December 3, 2011

The scan library for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary actually can be navigated using the Kinect’s motion sensor as well as a regular 360 controller. How well does the Kinect menu system work? I take a look at that for you.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Another holiday has passed us by and that means another day has come when we can visit our friend Julian Day, also known as The Calendar Man, in Arkham City.
Apologies for not having this up yesterday. I shot and edited it yesterday, but YouTube was malfunctioning and not accepting the upload when I wanted to upload it.
Batman: Arkham City is now out for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Playable Robin DLC has just been made available for purchase through the PSN and XBLA marketplace. That DLC was previously only accessible for those who preordered the game at Best Buy, but now anyone who wants it can buy it for about seven dollars.
Star Fox 64 Gameplay November 22, 2011

Well, El Train and I had the N64 plugged in, and we had the games and the controllers all set, so we figured why not play a game of Star Fox 64 for old time’s sake on my big screen. Apologies for the crude image, we had to use an old CATV adapter to connect the Nintendo 64 to the TV, so the image greatly degraded.
But just remember, this is the same game that has recently been re-released for the Nintendo 3DS.
And it is also the same subject of this YouTube hit!
So take a look at the first level of this game, as it was originally designed to be exhibited.

When we were kids, El Train and I would have a blast playing games on his Nintendo 64 like Starfox 64 or Crusin’ USA. We dust off the greatly loved device and take a really good look at it for the first time in years. Maybe you might learn something about it you hadn’t heard before!
