Maniac does a retro unboxing of a classic game for the Nintendo DS.  In Elite Beat Agents, you play through songs tapping the DS touch screen in a very specific sequence.  Its gameplay was inspired by earlier games like Dance Dance Revolution, and with the wide acceptability of touch screen devices has become the staple for rhythm games.  Make sure to keep beat with the agents as their dancing helps people through difficult trials!

Oh and if you’re curious about the episode of Little Miss Gamer I mentioned in the unboxing, you can view it here.

Maniac talks about SiN for the PC by Ritual Entertainment.  It was a pioneering series which brought heavy interactivity and polish to the genre made by a very talented company.  Alas, this is a sad story with a sad ending, but there are two very good games and one of the first direct to video animated feaures for a video game to show for it.

This is SiN’s story, give it a listen.

During the Mario Weekend I hosted on the site, I had a request from a fan that I do a Mario Podcast for the event.  It was an interesting request, as it was something that I hadn’t planned to do.  However, the more I thought about it the more I thought it was the right idea to do a podcast on Mario.

Mario is probably one of the most enduring mascots of my lifetime, and he continues to appear in new games even to this day.  If I was going to do Mario justice I was going to need a lot of time, because I was going to have plenty to talk about.

Nintendo 3DS XL Charging Cradle Review December 13, 2012

If you take a hard look at the 3DS XL charge port, you can see what appear to be power connectors for a docking cradle.  If you haven’t noticed a 3DS XL charging cradle being sold in stores, we haven’t either, but Nintendo certainly has made one.  This custom charging dock appears to be sold exclusively through Nintendo’s Parts and Accessories website.  It costs $19 US, and with the extra costs of shipping and taxes, it came out to about $25.

So, what does it look like?  Is it any good?  Is it worth the money?  Take a look.
