Maniac unboxes Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, a game he’s been looking forward to playing since Kojima announced it at E3 2009. This is the PS3 version and it includes a soundtrack CD, and replica of part of Raiden’s HF Blade inside of a Plasma Lamp. He also shows off what he got for preordering the game, and for preordering something unrelated that was recently announced.

If you preordered Metal Gear Rising: Revengance at any retailer which may have offered a special download code for unlockable content, it may not be active yet, but the retailers have assured us that the codes are indeed valid and will activate as soon as the content comes online on your platform of choice.

So, don’t lose those codes, they will work soon. We’ll keep you posted when the content becomes available on either platform.

Today, Aliens: Colonial Marines was released to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.

This the second week of an incredible two month span of major game releases.  A year and a half after first demoing it at E3 2011, Maniac unboxes Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector’s Edition for the Xbox 360.  This is going to be more than just an unboxing, we’re going to be looking at everything that’s in this box and giving it a full review.  Lets see what’s included for $100 US, and if it is worth the money.

Note:  The two index cards which included the download codes for the Collector’s Edition’s downloadable content were not properly marked.  The download code on each card worked, but redeemed the special content that was written on the OTHER card.  I have no idea if this is an issue across all of the CEs or all of the platforms, or if it was just a problem with my edition of the game, but I just wanted to make a mention of that on the site so people who redeem these codes know there may be an issue with them.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is out now for Xbox 360, PC and PS3.  A Wii U version is coming but has no set release date.

Maniac unboxes the Dead Space 3 Dev Team Edition five days before the release of Dead Space 3.  The Dev-Team Edition was only sold through EA’s Gear Store.  Only 5000 of them were made and they completely sold out.  What we unbox could be one of the best Collector’s Editions released for a game since the Halo Reach Legendary Edition.

But where’s the game box fit?

Dead Space 3 is coming February 5th, 2013 to the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

For those of you who didn’t get a chance to check out the God of War: Ascension multiplayer beta but are looking forward to finally playing multiplayer in a God of War game when it is released in March, we have you covered.  Today, gamexcess.net will be releasing some footage from the God of War: Ascension beta.

First off, we’re going to show you the first thing a player sees when they fire up the multiplayer beta for the first time, and probably what will be the first thing a multiplayer player will see in the final version of the game, the training level.  If you just simply look at the title of the video you may confuse it for a simple multiplayer training level, but, as you’ll be able to see in this footage, Sony Santa Monica did something special with its presentation.

God of War: Ascension is coming March 13th, 2013 exclusive to the Playstation 3.
