Avengers Deep Dive – Clint Barton February 16, 2021

In the months since the release of Marvel’s Avengers, the guys at Crystal Dynamics have been working hard to add new characters and new storylines. We have been waiting patiently for one of the most iconic Avengers, Clint Barton, better known as the original Hawkeye, to come to the game as a playable character. Well, that’s coming soon and here’s our first look at it. Ready to reassemble?

Marvel’s Avengers is out now for PC, Xbox One, Stadia and PS4. It’s coming to Xbox Series X/S and PS5 March 18th, 2021.

Kingdom Hearts Games Coming to PC February 12, 2021

Square Enix has just announced one of the most beloved franchises in the history of console gaming will be released on the PC exclusively through the Epic Games Store. Take a look:

EGS will be offering Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 HD, Kingdom Hearts III, Melody of Memory, and II.8 HD. All of the Kingdom Hearts PC games will be using their remastered HD assets.

These games are already available on the PS2, PS3, PS4, and Xbox One. They’re coming to the PC through the Epic Games Store March 30th, 2021.

Pokemon 25 Post Malone Concert Announced February 11, 2021

The Pokémon Company has revealed the date and time for an incredible crossover concert event. Take a look:

Musician Post Malone will be streaming a live concert on the web to mark the 25th anniversary of the original Pokémon games release. The event will take place February 27th, 2021 at 7PM EST.

Pokemon TCG Top Deck Academy Episode 2 February 11, 2021

The second episode of Top Deck, an official tips and training series for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, has been posted. This episode is going to talk about the controversial VMax cards. You can watch it now below:

Super Mario 3D Worlds + Bowser’s Fury Commercial February 9, 2021

In less than a week, Nintendo is launching what could be the final release of the Super Mario 35th Anniversary event, a rerelease of Super Mario 3D Worlds bundled with the new game Bowser’s Fury. Here’s the new commercial for the game.

Super Mario 3D Worlds + Bowser’s Fury is coming February 12th, 2021 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

Pokemon World Championships Moved to 2022 February 9, 2021

The biggest competition of the year is not the AFC/NFC Championship Game, World Series or even the Stanley Cup Playoffs, it is the Pokémon World Championships. Previously held every year, Worlds brings together the best Pokémon players from across all the disciplines (TCG, Video Game, Pokkén Tournament and now Pokémon Go), to see who is the very best like no one ever was. At stake was a big trophy, and the recognition that comes with it.

Last year, The Pokémon Company confirmed their next World Championships would take place in England, due to it being the inspiration for the recent Sword and Shield games. It didn’t happen in 2020 due to the current world events. Now, it looks like it will not happen this year either.

The Pokémon Company has just confirmed that Pokémon World Championship will not take place this year due to ongoing safety concerns due to the current world events. It is still expected to take place in England next year.

Pokemon TCG – Top Deck Academy Episode 1 February 4, 2021

A major component of Pokémania has always been the Pokémon Trading Card Game or TCG for short. It is a well balanced customizable card game that has been going on almost as long as the video games, and new packs and expansions are released nearly every season. While I admit I know the game’s rules and even have a few decks of my own, I would never admit to considering myself GOOD at the game, certainly in comparison to the champions we’ve seen at Worlds.

The Pokémon Company has just released the first episode of this new series called Top Deck Academy, where they’re going to teach us about the Pokémon TCG. How do you get good at this game? Watch and find out:

Control: Ultimate Edition Out Now For Xbox Series X/S and PS5 February 2, 2021

Remedy has just digitally released the next generation version of Control: Ultimate Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. How does it look? Check it out:

If you don’t have a previous generation version of the game and would like to buy the game at Retail, physical copies will be available in March. If you already have a copy of Control: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or PS4, your copy will Next-Gen upgrade automatically to a console of the same manufacturer.

Google Shutting Down First Party Stadia Game Development, All Future Stadia Games Will Be Third Party February 1, 2021

Google shocked everyone when they announced Stadia, a cloud based game streaming service. Initial reviews were awful but Google persevered and currently, Stadia has cut themselves a decent niche in the gaming market for gamers who want to play games without having to buy expensive hardware and endure weekly game updates. Heck, I’ve used Stadia and I thought it delivered on Google’s promises, and it provided a superior experience playing Cyberpunk 2077 than the Xbox One X does.

However, as a long term veteran of the console wars I could tell you a game platform is only as viable as its best exclusive titles. To date, Stadia has exactly ONE exclusive game. Google promised more exclusives would be coming to Stadia from recognizable game studios they had banded together through a company program. Well, that has come to an end.

Earlier today, Google announced they are no longer developing First-Party games for Stadia. No word was given as to why, or what that meant for the studios Google hired to develop exclusive games for them. Stadia itself will continue to operate and all games currently on the system will continue functioning. But that’s not the question I’m wondering about. How can a gaming platform survive without exclusive first party titles? I guess we will all be finding out the answer to that question together.
