In about eight minutes, Pokémon Go Fest 2024 will officially start on the East Coast! This is a major yearly event for Pokemon Go players and this year is shaping up to be just as big as the previous!

Nintendo World Championships NES Edition Overview July 11, 2024

Since it was first announced, gamers have been interested in just what is going to be possible with the upcoming Nintendo World Championships game coming to the Switch. VAY Updated for 64-Bit iPhone/Apple TV/iPad July 10, 2024

Here’s a big surprised for you guys today! Most people don’t remember, but one of the very first CD-ROM RPGs was a little known title called VAY. Released in 1993 for the SEGA CD, VAY offered full RPG gameplay alongside full-motion video. While not a major success at release, other studios would come along and further refine the design, and herald in a new era of JRPGs.

However, VAY was not totally forgotten. In 2008, the iPhone’s App Store was first opened alongside the release of the iPhone 3G. Not a lot of studios were sure of what would work on this new type of handheld device, but I distinctly remember a port of VAY was one of the earliest titles released on it. However, as one of the first games released on the iPhone platform, it was coded for iPhone’s early 32-bit processors. Over time, starting with the iPhone 5s, Apple exclusively began to ship their smartphones with faster 64-bit processors, and eventually made the decision to completely end 32-bit application support with the launch of iOS 11. This meant a player would be unable to play a game like VAY, or any other programs that were no longer receiving developer support, on the more recent iOS platforms. Unsupported applications are incapable of surviving a device transfer, and cannot be purchased or redownloaded on modern devices. That’s what VAY had become, and remained like that for six years.

Four days ago, VAY reappeared in the App Store, with an all-new update bringing in a 64-bit game engine. More than that, any existing customers who purchased the game back in the day have found their ability to reinstall the game officially restored on their Apple device of choice including the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

VAY is out now (again) for iOS devices.

Capcom NEXT – Summer 2024 July 2, 2024

Yesterday, publisher Capcom (famous for Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Mega Man) streamed their CAPCOM NEXT summer event, where they previewed some of their upcoming games. Fans of Dead Rising are going to be very happy to watch, as the biggest news of this event is a first look of a remaster of the first game. If you missed it, you can give it a watch below!

Nintendo has just revealed an INCREDIBLE Direct! In it, they revealed an all-new Legend of Zelda title, made some incredible Dragon Quest announcements, and revealed a game we have been looking forward to for a very, very long time.

visionOS 1.2 Released June 11, 2024

Just a day after visionOS 2.0 was announced at WWDC 2024, Apple released a smaller update for the Vision Pro, version 1.2.

The new update promises to include an expansion to language and region options for the Vision Pro, on top of the typical bug fixes and optimizations. The new update weighs in just under 2GB to download and can be installed through your device’s Settings menu.

Personally, I’m still waiting for the new immersive environments Apple has teased since the device launched.

Apple WWDC 2024 June 10, 2024

Apple has come forward and released a massive preview for upcoming features coming to existing products later this year. The video below will go into detail about new features coming to Vision Pro, IPhone, iPad and Mac!

Xbox Games Showcase 2024 June 9, 2024

It’s Sunday! Microsoft released this year’s Xbox Games Showcase earlier today! We expect to see more from the latest Call of Duty game, as well as updates on games from Bethesda, Activision, and third-party publishers like Konami and Square Enix.
