I have a long-term relationship with the Gears of War franchise. As the biggest console-exclusive title for the Xbox 360 prior to the release of the PS4, the original Gears of War was a unique title with incredible graphics and gameplay.

I don’t want to bore you guys by retelling the story about the time some friends of mine and I commandeered a now defunct electronics store’s home theatre room to play the original game on five enormous HDTV-equipped surround sound systems, to the confusion of an elderly married couple who assumed they were watching footage of the Iraq war, so I won’t.  When Gears of War 4 was announced at E3 last year, I became very interested in learning more about it. Now we have a release date and a new trailer.

Gears of War 4 is coming October 11th, 2016 exclusively to the Xbox One.

My apologies for not sharing this video with you guys sooner. As you may know we are about a month away from the release of the most anticipated PS4-exclusive title for this year, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Earlier this week, Sony released a previously never before seen preview of the game. Looks like we’re going to Madagascar.

It’s great to see the team back in action after all this time. Can’t wait to see more when the game is released next month.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is coming May 10th, 2016 exclusively on the PlayStation 4.

An enormous content update for Halo 5: Guardians has just hit Xbox Live and Halo 5 all players are going to need to prepare for it.

The new update includes several new maps, weapons, game modes, REQ Packs, and a whole lot more. I would go into explicit detail about everything that’s been added, but I’m sure it would be a lot easier to show you.  Take a look.

The Ghosts of Merdian update is completely free to all of Halo 5: Guardians players.  If you previously had the most recent version of the game installed, this new update is going to require a hefty 8.3GB download. If you can’t wait that long, Microsoft and 343 Industries hosted a live stream of all the new content. If you missed it or want to rewatch it yourself, here’s the entire preview stream.

Halo 5: Guardians is out now exclusively on Xbox One.

A major required system software update has been released on the PlayStation 4.  The new update includes a laundry list of all new features including the ability to create events, stream games to Dailymotion, and the ability to appear offline, even when online.

However some would argue that the biggest feature Sony has added is an all new Remote Play feature for Windows and Mac computers. To use remote play on your Mac or PC just download the client here.

You MUST download this software update to access the PlayStation Network.

A minor update to iOS 9 was released. The new update, iOS 9.3.1, fixes a major issue some users were having with Safari and specific apps.  While this specific issue was a minor problem before iOS 9.3 was released, this was a pretty serious bug that had affected lots of users.

As with all iOS updates, you can download the update right now by connecting your iDevice to an iTunes equipped PC or Mac.  If you prefer not to connect your iDevice to a computer, you can still update it using the Software Update feature in your Settings app.

This is just a funny little short film that Remedy created showcasing what would probably happen if Alan Wake and the original Max Payne tried to play Quantum Break.

Mythical Pokémon Jirachi Released April 1, 2016

Today is the first of April, and I’ve got some big news to share with Pokémon Trainers across the world.  The Mythical Pokémon Jirachi, a Pokémon that was previously unobtainable through normal means in any previous Pokémon game, is being distributed free of charge through the Nintendo Network.

Jirachi can be obtained by accessing the Mystery Gift menu which is easily accessible when booting up one of your compatible games. Just make sure to set your system to “Recieve a Gift from the Internet” while your 3DS is connected to a wireless hotspot. If you don’t have one at home, I recomend taking your handheld device to a Nintendo Zone location, like a McDonald’s, Best Buy or Barnes and Noble.

Once you recieve your Mystery Gift, you’ll need to load your recent save, and then visit any in-game Pokémon Center.  Once there, talk to the Mail Lady next to Nurse Joy. She’ll give your character the legendary Jirachi.  Once you obtain the legendary Pokémon, save your game and it will be yours!

This disribution works on any Generation 6 Pokémon game and will end on April 24th, 2016, so make sure to check your Mystery Gift menu as soon as possible!

Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are out now for all Nintendo 3DS systems.
