Octopath Traveler Prologue Demo Released June 14, 2018

During Nintendo’s E3 2018 Direct, they revealed an all-new demo for Octopath Traveler would be released on June 14th. Well, I’m happy to say that it is currently live on the Nintendo eShop, but a link to download the demo isn’t currently attached to the game’s main page on the eShop and because of that it may require some digging to find it.
The fastest way to get the demo is to have Octopath Traveler news enabled on your news feed. There’s a recent news post announcing a preorder and preload option will be available for the game starting today (if you wish to purchase it digitally). You can select the Prologue Demo Version from the side of the news article, which will take you straight to the download menu for the demo. The other option is to manually do a search for Octopath Traveler in the eShop’s search bar, and select it the Prologue Demo Version from the listed options. Don’t worry, it is marked as a free download in the eShop.
I have no idea why Nintendo doesn’t currently have this demo attached to the game’s main page on the eShop, or why there isn’t currently a menu of downloadable demos to select from on the eShop, so as of now we will be forced to jump through these kind of hoops to play it.
UPDATE: This new Prologue demo functions differently than the previous one. You are limited to only three hours of gameplay in the demo and later sections of the game are locked out. However, you will be able to pick from any of the eight playable characters from the full version of the game, and your progress can carry over to the final version.
Octopath Traveler is coming July 13th, 2018 exclusively to Nintendo Switch.

Grim Fandango Reunion June 12, 2018

Grim Fandango was one of the greatest PC adventure games ever produced, and until it was remastered for modern consoles a few years ago, used copies fetched very high prices online. Why? Because the game had an incredible story, unbelievable design and great characters. It was the brainchild of Tim Schaffer, who would later go on to Direct the games Psychonauts and Brütal Legend.
Tonight, the original cast and director of Grim Fandango (with Jack Black) reunited for the anniversary of the game’s original release to perform a live dramatic reading of the game’s original script. Not everything goes according to plan, but it’s something every fan of the game should watch.
Grim Fandango is out now for PC, PS4 and is coming soon to the Nintendo Switch.
