New Super Mario Bros U was the Mario launch title for the Wii U back in 2012. The console didn’t sell well despite some great first party games. It got an expansion pack New Luigi Bros U in 2013 as part of the Year of Luigi. Now both games are on the Nintendo Switch, and here’s the official launch trailer!
New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe is out now exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Catherine Full Body Coming to the US and Europe January 10, 2019

When the 2011 puzzle game Catherine was first released in the US, it not only was loved by many, it fundamentally rewrote the book on what kind of story is possible with a game. Catherine told a mature story about a young man faced with the choice of moving on to the next relationship phase with the woman he was dating steady, or risk his stable relationship by hooking up with a spitfire who didn’t believe in being tied down by marriage.
After completing it, I had been hoping for years that Atlus would make a sequel. Earlier today, Atlus finally released the game on PC in glorious 4K with an unlocked framerate, but that wasn’t the only Catherine related news Atlus had to share with us today. Catherine: Full Body is an upcoming remaster of the original Catherine for the current game consoles with all new story components. Until today, I believed that game would never get a release in the US or Europe. I’m happy to announce that belief was wrong!
Catherine: Full Body is coming in 2019 to PS4 and PlayStation Vita.
Catherine Now On PC January 10, 2019

One of my absolute favorite games from the previous console generations was Catherine. It was unlike any game I had played previously and to this day I feel that it is a staple “must play” game if you have any interest in Japanese culture at all. Today, I’m happy to announce you can buy it right now on PC.
Sega promises that the PC version of the game will offer 4K support, completely unlocked framerate and support for the mouse and keyboard. The Japanese voice over audio is also included if you prefer to play the game with subtitles.
Catherine is out now for PC, Xbox 360 and PS4.
“Fantastic” Stuff Coming to Spider-Man PS4 January 8, 2019

No singular comic series defined the Silver Age of comics, and could be cited as being the genesis of Marvel’s interconnected comic universe than The Fantastic Four. Created by the late Stan “The Man” Lee, the Four were comprised of Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm. They absorbed massive quantities of cosmic rays while on a scientific exploration of space which gave them incredible powers. Reed Richards, whose incredible knowledge always “stretched” to the sky, gained the ability to stretch his limbs making him Mr. Fantastic. Johnny Storm, a hothead, gained the ability to create and total invulnerability to fire making him The Human Torch. Susan Storm, who went through life feeling invisible, gained the ability to bend light and force fields around herself making her the Invisible Woman. Finally there’s the team mascot, Benjamin J. Grimm, who grew up on the rough and tumble streets of NYC, had his organs and skin completely solidified hard as rock, turning him into The Thing.
Due to concerns over the status of film rights to the franchise, Marvel had shelved products about their first family, The Fantastic Four, to much sadness. This was a big loss for the comics fan because the book was unlike many other comics when they were published. They have no secret identities and live their super-powered lives out in the open for all the good and bad that goes along with that. These four live the lives of superheroes as if superhumans existed in real life. Their book holds the honor of being the very first Marvel book to make it to a 500th issue, proving that they were still relevant in today’s day and age.
The first time I ever came across the Fantastic Four in gaming was when I played the game Ultimate Spider-Man. The Human Torch visited Spider-Man’s school early on in the game to challenge him to a race. After “owning” Johnny, you can challenge him to other (very difficult) races by climbing The Baxter Building, the home of the Four, and challenging Johnny to a race. It was great to see the home of the Fantastic Four in Ultimate Spider-Man’s open-world NYC just as they have appeared in the comics.
Thirteen years later, Spider-Man is released on the PS4 and surpasses every previous game the character had ever appeared in. However, continuing rights issues prevented any mention of The Fantastic Four from appearing in the game, despite other components of the Marvel Universe getting name-dropped. There was no appearance of The Baxter Building, none of the four members appeared or were mentioned by name, and the Bombastic Bagman costume was not featured in the game. This was such a shame as in the comics, The Fantastic Four are a major force in New York, and they are at the full disposal of any heroes in Marvel’s comics.
Well, I’ve got some news for you today. This week Marvel has announced will be known as The World’s Greatest Week, and it will revolve around the Fantastic Four’s glorious return. To kick it off, Marvel hosted a two hour live stream dedicated to the Four, and you can watch it below. Stay tuned to the last two minutes for a big surprise.
The most important takeaway I’m getting from this announcement is that more content is coming to Spider-Man PS4! This is a big turn around from Marvel’s previous policy where they pretended the Fantastic Four does not exist! We don’t know what all of the details about this announcement are because Marvel is keeping it very secret at this time but that is likely to change as the World’s Greatest Week presses on!
What would you like to see that is connected to The Fantastic Four make an appearance in Spider-Man? Honestly, I would love to see The Baxter Building return to Manhattan’s skyline where I feel it belongs. Stay tuned, we will keep you posted the moment Marvel announces what is coming!
Spider-Man is out now exclusively for PS4.

The Making of Psychonauts December 27, 2018

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I personally spent it with a brand-new VR headset. With it, I’ve finally been able to catch up on playing a laundry list of VR-only games that I was previously unable to experience. My favorite game to play on it so far? Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, the VR-only sequel to the 2005 cult classic, Psychonauts.
Let’s face it Psychonauts is a beloved game that many gamers still cite back to all these years later, but its development was not easy. It was created by a first-time studio who were veterans of entirely different kinds of games. It switched publishers at least once, and nearly ran out of funding on at least one occasion. It launched later than expected and despite great reviews initial sales were not good. The guys over at 2-Player Productions, one of the finest documentary studios in existence, produced an incredible three-part video about the making of the original Psychonauts. If you’re a fan of the game or just love the work of Tim Schaffer, You should give it a watch.
Psychonauts is out now for Xbox, PS2 and PC. It’s also available as a digital download on Steam, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin is out now for PSVR and Steam VR.
A lot of fans of the original game will be happy to know a full sequel is currently in development for PC and modern consoles. Psychonauts 2 is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2019.

Remedy’s CONTROL was one of the most pleasant surprises of this past E3. The game takes place in The Oldest House, a building found by the government years earlier that defies the laws of reality. In this game, we’ll be able to explore the entire building as an open world. Take a closer look at the world of CONTROL.
CONTROL is coming in 2019 to PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Raimi Suit from Original Spider-Man Films Added to Spider-Man on PS4 for Free December 20, 2018
Posted by Maniac in Game News.add a comment
Merry Christmas, Spider-Man fans! The Spider-Man suit made famous in the Spider-Man films directed by Sam Raimi (which is why it is referred to as the Raimi suit) can now be obtained completely free of charge. This is the most fan-requested suit for Spider-Man on the PS4 and it should make a lot of gamers happy prior to the release of the Silver Lining DLC tomorrow!
To get the suit, you’ll need to install the 1.13 patch. You can do that by highlighting the game in the PS4 menu, pushing the triangle button, and selecting the Check for Update option from the options menu. The patch is not small, even if you previously had the most recent patch, it will clock in at a download of around 3.5GB. You’ll likely need to download the patch anyway if you plan to play the Silver Lining DLC.
Spider-Man is out now exclusively for the PS4.
