Announcing Dragon Quest Day Tuesday! June 27, 2021

Play the horns. I know we typically reserve Tuesdays for our feature articles on Japan Travel Tips, but on this Tuesday we’ll be celebrating the definitive Japanese game franchise which set the gold standard for interactive role playing games (RPGs), Dragon Quest.
Created by Yuji Hori, Dragon Quest started life as a game on the original NES where you were tasked with fighting a dragon and saving a princess. I know that sounds pretty standard in comparison to what we can do with games today, but that’s only because Dragon Quest DID it first and has continued to produce high-quality highly-polished RPGs that have sparked the imagination of the entire world. Most recently, Dragon Quest XI has been re-released on Nintendo Switch, PC and PS4. Here’s the game’s opening cinematic.
So, to honor the franchise, and highlight some of the great Dragon Quest content currently out there, we decided to devote an entire day of this website’s content to Dragon Quest. So this Tuesday I ask all of you to sit down, grab a sword, and prepare to battle a slime! We’ll be posting up some of the best Dragon Quest content from across the web all day long. Or at least it’ll be another day to spend time together as we all wait to hear more about the next game, Dragon Quest XII.
Stay tuned and please subscribe to this website to stay up to date!

Last week, there was a massive update for Cyberpunk 2077. It still didn’t bring the game to an entirely fixed state, but it was a major improvement the game badly needed. However, it looks like that recent patch may have been enough for Sony, as it looks like the game has been put back on the PlayStation Network digital store. The developers have mentioned the game is still not entirely fixed, and there may still be a few bugs, but if you own a PS4 or PS5, you can finally check out the game for yourself.
The developers will be offering a free native PS5 upgrade to people who own either the digital or retail PS4 version of the game some time in the future.

When Spider-Man released on the PS4 back in 2018, I’ve was so happy to reveal that a major book publisher was going to release a canonical prequel novel which was meant to take place before the events of the game. A similar prequel novel was later released prior to the release of Marvel’s Avengers and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Now, it looks like it will happen again.
Out of all the new games announced for this year’s E3, no game impressed me more than Guardians of the Galaxy, which will be coming to multiple platforms in October. I know what you’re thinking? You want to learn more about the story of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy video game. Well, on November 2nd, 2021 a prequel novel to the game titled Guardians of the Galaxy: No Guts no Glory. Here’s the official synopsis:
An old Resistance base has a squatter, and it’s up to the Guardians to ‘gently escort’ them off the premises… and unmask a wartime traitor while they’re at it.

Preorders for the book are expected to start tomorrow at supported retailers across the US.
Guardians of the Galaxy is coming October 2021 to the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
