Anyone who tries logging into the PlayStation Network today will notice they are unable to do so. Sony has just released a new System Software for the PlayStation 4, version 6.00. The new update, despite being an incremental version number over the previous version, adds no new features and only lists nonspecific bug fixes.

If you’re planning to update your console through it’s software update feature, you’ll only need a 450MB download to begin the update process. You will not be able to sign into the PlayStation Network unless you update your console.

Tonight, Cinemark theaters across the US held a special one-night-only event and Maniac attended it. Making of a Tomb Raider was a special documentary in the same vein as shows like Ultimate Beastmaster and Ultimate Ninja Warrior. A professional athlete and base jumper was tasked to replicate some of the same challenges Lara Croft made famous in her classic games. People who attended the premiere were promised exclusive DLC that could be used in the full retail version of the game.

So how was the documentary? Was it worth the price of a full movie ticket? What did everyone else in the theater think of it? Were there any issues at the theater? Watch our exclusive review below and find out.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is coming September 14th, 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Battlefield 1 Premium Pass Free This Week September 12, 2018

I’m not much of a fan of the Battlefield games but I’m also not one to pass on a freebie. EA is offering the unbearably overpriced (It’s usually $49) Battlefield 1 Premium Pass for free this week. That means that some time between now and the next six days you can get the Pass and all the content that goes with it free of charge on your respective digital marketplaces. That essentially turns any normal version of the game into the premium edition at no extra charge.

The free pass works on both digital and retail copies of the game. To get it, you’ll just need to find the pass on your game platform’s respective digital marketplace (Origin, PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace) and buy it as you normally would. The only difference is the price for the Pass should be listed as $0.00 or Free. Do not buy it if it doesn’t say it’s free after the offer expires.

Battlefield 1 is out now for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Sorry we haven’t been posting much on the site as of late. That’s due to the fact that we’ve been playing Spider-Man on the PS4 as much as possible. Earlier today, Sony released this new featurette on the making of the game, focused on the villains that make up the game’s Sinister Six. No spoilers yet, but Insomniac is intentionally keeping one major villain under wraps.

We do plan to reveal who the mystery villain is when we do our unboxing of the game’s Collector’s Edition later this week. Check it out, we will do it in glorious 4K.

Spider-Man is out now exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

One of the most unique and iconic Final Fantasy games in the history of the franchise as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Originally made for the Nintendo GameCube, the game allowed for four player local multiplayer if each player used their own Game Boy Advance as a controller. I have to admit, never picking up this game back in the day was a big regret of mine. I could not have been happier to see this trailer get released earlier today.

I have to admit when I first saw this announcement the only thing going through my head were the words, “Yes yes yes yes yes!”

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered is coming to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2019z

The clock has struck midnight here in the US and that means we will FINALLY be able to play Spider-Man on the PS4. Sony and Insomniac have pulled out all the stops for tonight’s festivities. We had a midnight launch show, new commercials and more. First off, here’s an extended commercial for all of you. For some reason this aired during tonight’s NFL game. Since not a single gamer I know is even remotely interested in professional sports I thought bot would be a good idea to share it with you here.

And here is the archived version of the entire midnight release show. It features new content, interviews, behind the scenes commentary and a few surprises. You can watch it here.

If you wanted to see certain segments from the launch event you might have missed, Sony is currently in the process of uploading them. Here’s the interview about the game’s music.

Unfortunately at this time Sony Pictures have not posted their inside look at the upcoming animated Sony film, Into the Spider-Verse. We reached out to Sony Pictures to rectify this and will report back if we get a response. iPhone owners can currently obtain the Spider-Man sticker pack from the App Store, but unlike every other previous PlayStation sticker pack that was free, Marvel is charging $2.99 for the Spider-Man pack.

We might have more news to share as the night goes on so keep your eyes on this post for more content!

Spider-Man is out now exclusively on PS4.
