When the initial lineup of Nintendo Switch were first revealed, the game that impressed me the most was Square Enix’s Project Octopath Traveller. Developed by the same team that made the Bravely Default games for the Nintendo 3DS, I felt the game had a unique art style that really stood out.

Today, during the Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo revealed the newest trailer for Project Octopath Traveller and announced there will be a demo out on the Switch later tonight!  Take a look at the new trailer!

Nintendo Switch owners will be able to download the Project Octopath Traveller demo for free later tonight. Square Enix is asking demo players to fill out a brief survey after completing it.

Project Octopath Traveller is coming in 2018 exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.

Very few games in my life have left as big an impression on me than Catherine by Atlus.  On the one hand the game is an artistic puzzle game where you have to arrange unusual blocks to climb to the top of a seemingly never ending tower. On the other hand, it is a strongly written narrative giving the player the full control on its potential resolution.

We have been meaning to do a live Let’s Play of Catherine for quite some time now and now that the game is Backwards compatible on the Xbox One, the time has finally come for us to play it to 100% completion. That means we will be going for every Gold Trophy on each puzzle, every factoid and no unnecessary fatalities. Will we succeed?  Watch and find out.

All gameplay footage is provided with full video commentary.

Catherine is out now for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The Xbox 360 version is backwards compatible with the Xbox One and the PS3 version can be streamed on the PlayStation Now service.
