Shortly after the recent Nintendo Direct was released, Nintendo updated the Nintendo 3DS eShop with three new downloadable games…from the SNES library!

Super Mario World, Pilotwings and F-Zero are the first SNES titles available to download on Nintendo’s newest handheld.  Sadly, SNES games can only be downloaded by players with a New Nintendo 3DS. Earlier 3DS systems are unable to download SNES games.

More SNES games will be on the way including the cult classic Earthbound.  Looks like I have a new reason to upgrade my hardware.
