Japan Travel Tips – Can You Play All of Yakuza’s Minigames In Japan for Real March 24, 2026

It’s Tuesday, time for a brand-new Japan Travel Tips, where we share some of the best independently produced video content for gamers interested in visiting The Land of The Rising Sun. Since obtaining a Switch 2, a peer of mine has been singing the praises of a game called Yakuza 0, which he’s told me is a combination action/adventure game and life simulator.

I’ve never played any of the Yakuza games, but after seeing a preview, I was charmed by the game’s attention to detail in recreating the regional nightlife. Its attention to detail drew some internal comparison to the Shenmue series, which featured a detailed recreation of a small town in Japan back as it looked during the 1980s. Yakuza is on a different level. Alongside the game’s story you are able to play countless minigames ranging from Baseball, Virtual Golf, Bowling, and even model car racing! The best part is these are all activities you can do on a night out in the city!

YouTube Channel VexilGo is a huge Yakuza fan, and recently look a trip to Japan to see just how many of Yakuza’s minigames were actual activities someone staying in the city was able to do. He did not walk away disappointed.

Seriously i could see my father having a fun time in Japan if this is just a taste of the fun activities the country offers.
