When Spider-Man released on the PS4 back in 2018, I’ve was so happy to reveal that a major book publisher was going to release a canonical prequel novel which was meant to take place before the events of the game. A similar prequel novel was later released prior to the release of Marvel’s Avengers and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Now, it looks like it will happen again.
Out of all the new games announced for this year’s E3, no game impressed me more than Guardians of the Galaxy, which will be coming to multiple platforms in October. I know what you’re thinking? You want to learn more about the story of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy video game. Well, on November 2nd, 2021 a prequel novel to the game titled Guardians of the Galaxy: No Guts no Glory. Here’s the official synopsis:
An old Resistance base has a squatter, and it’s up to the Guardians to ‘gently escort’ them off the premises… and unmask a wartime traitor while they’re at it.

Preorders for the book are expected to start tomorrow at supported retailers across the US.
Guardians of the Galaxy is coming October 2021 to the PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

Everyone has a game that they can relate to. For a lot of people, that game was the PC horror adventure game Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh. As Phantasmagoria 2 fans eagerly await the release of the third episode of Conversations with Curtis, Paul Stetler is looking for the personal stories of the gaming community he can share on the episode as he interviews Paul Mitri, who played Trevor Barnes.
Eh, I can’t do this plea justice. Take it away, Mr Stetler.

Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh is out now for the PC.

SUDA51 joined the Nintendo Treehouse stream for an exclusive look at at No More Heroes 3. The game takes place two years after the events of Travis Strikes Again, and Travis must fight his way through a new Alien Superhero Ranking. Now, we will be getting our first direct preview of actual gameplay!
No, do not adjust your computer, this preview was NOT included in the original Nintendo Treehouse Live broadcast! My guess is that happened due to the fact they age restricted this video, and the rest of the stream was deemed appropriate for all ages.
No More Heroes 3 is coming August 27th, 2021 exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.

The Game & Watch Legend of Zelda edition will be released November 2021.

This overlooked Wii U title has just been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch and I couldn’t be happier. A true Japanese horror title, you must survive a dark forest armed with just your camera. Take a look.
I missed out on this game for the Wii U since it was only released digitally in the US! One of the first games I ever reviewed on this site was a review of this game’s predecessor, Spirit Camera for the 3DS. It remains this site’s most popular review.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water is out now for Wii U, it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Metroid: Dread Announced June 15, 2021

I thought it was a rumor. I thought it was a gag left over in the original Metroid Prime game data. I thought it was cancelled. Well, it wasn’t, and this isn’t a joke. Today, Nintendo has officially announced Metroid: Dread, which you may better refer to as…Metroid 5.
Metroid: Dread will be a 2D Metroid platformer in the same vein as Metroid: Samus Returns with an art style that reminds me of the classic GBA game Metroid: Fusion (which was considered Metroid 4). But this game is for the Nintendo Switch and it looks just great.
Update: Here’s a developer interview about the game!
UPDATE 2: Here are two previews of actual gameplay straight from Treehouse Live!
Metroid: Dread is NOT Metroid Prime 4, that game is still in development.
Metroid: Dread is coming October 2021 exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.

I have to admit I’ve always had a soft spot for the Warioware franchise. I loved how they would create quick and fun micro games to take advantage of the console platform of the generation. Now, it looks like a new game is coming to the Nintendo Switch and I couldn’t be happier about it. The micro games are back to take advantage of the Switch!
UPDATE: Here’s some actual gameplay from Treehouse Live!
Warioware: Get it Together is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Halo: Infinite Multiplayer Overview Trailer June 14, 2021

It seems Microsoft and 343 Industries is using this year’s E3 to preview the multiplayer component of Halo: Infinite more than the single-player component. A bold move, as I can only think of one time in recent history where they’ve chosen to make that decision, the E3 2004 presentation of Halo 2. Since then, Halo games have always spotlighted their single-player campaigns at preview events, and multiplayer previews would be done in hands-on beta tests. Well, we aren’t getting a beta this time, but we are getting a huge preview this E3.
If yesterday’s video wasn’t enough for you, 343 has just released this 12-minute multiplayer preview. It features interviews with the developers and never before seen gameplay footage from the upcoming free-to-play multiplayer campaign. Oh and it’s all in 4K 60 frames, so enjoy.
Halo: Infinite is coming Holiday 2021 to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
