Yesterday, Apple released their first preview of the upcoming personal devices that will be coming out later this month. This specific presentation focused on the new hardware features of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Some of the rumors were right, the new iPhone 15 line will support native USB-C charging and data transfer, but will also still support MagSafe chargers and accessories. The most interesting feature that personally interested me was the announcement the iPhone 15 Pro’s camera array will also be able to take 3D video that can be played back on the upcoming Apple Vision Pro.
The new devices will be in stores to purchase by the end of the month.
1TB Black Xbox Series S Released September 13, 2023

It has no optical disc drive, but it can play digital copies of any Xbox One or Xbox Series games at 1080p, it is the Xbox Series S. When it first launched back in 2020, the Series S had an internal storage capacity of 512GB. Today, Microsoft has officially announced that they have released an all-new Series S model in BLACK. The internal storage capacity is 1TB and the price is $349US!
This is very big news, but it does not herald any price drop or discontinuation for existing Xbox Series S or Series X consoles. Those will remain on the market at their current prices. Given the fact that it includes no disc drive, the Series S should have come with a 1TB storage capacity as standard when it launched back in 2020.
Insert Coin Documentary Free On YouTube September 12, 2023

After I purchased Arcade1Up’s Terminator 2 home arcade, I noticed the company had included a “making of” video inside the machine. It turns out that footage was taken from the documentary Insert Coin, a feature-length documentary about the history of some incredible arcade companies. It featured interviews with some of the original developers as well as fans, and absolutely covered the controversies of the day!
If you are a fan of 90s arcade games, and have access to YouTube, you should give it a watch! There’s no way to know just how long a movie will be watchable on YouTube, so you should check it out as soon as you can!
Memories of Maniac – The Time I Watched Paul Simon Sing at Yale’s Tricentennial September 11, 2023

No gaming-related content today, so settle down children, Maniac is going to share with you another of his memories. Yale University is VERY old, in fact it is likely pushing past three-hundred and twenty years of age. Its legacy lives on as more than just a university, it also has one of the best medical facilities in the country that his mother happened to work for.
When Yale celebrated its Tricentennial, it did so in a very big way. However, it was Fall 2001, and people’s minds were on other things at the time. However, Yale was determined to host an amazing show at the Yale Bowl, and it was open to not just students, but Yale staff (as well as their families). The show featured tons of famous alumni, including the famous musician Paul Simon.
During the show, Simon performed a song that drove the crowd at the Bowl absolutely crazy. Maniac didn’t recognize it at the time, because it wasn’t a song that Paul typically sang. There was a reason for that. Twenty years later, Maniac finally realized why, and realized he witnessed something very special.
Rare/Weird Things I (Don’t Own) – What’s Missing from My Plasm 0 September 8, 2023

Today, we’re going to be talking about something I DON’T own. I know, I’m scared too. Recently, I got some inquiries about my previous video about my rare Plasm #0 ComiCollector’s Binder. It’s a very rare comic book on a series that nearly nobody is aware of (not even my local comic book shops remember it).
Recently, I was contacted by a true fan of Defiant Comics who was aware of the item. Specifically he wanted to know what was missing from my collection. Well, today we’re going to talk about what I don’t have, as well as what I think may still be out there that belongs in this binder. Let’s take a look.
Jim Shooter, if you’re out there, would love to get your opinion on the subject!

Apple update night is upon us. I know a lot of us are waiting in anticipation for iOS 17, but tonight there has just been an incremental release for supported iPhones, iPads and Apple Watch. The new update, version 16.1.1, contains incremental bug fixes and improvements.
No new features are listed with this update. Depending on your device the update could weigh in between 125-250MB. A MacOS release has not been checked for but there does not appear to be an Apple TV update at this time.
Date Nite – Gran Turismo September 5, 2023

Sony has released a film which shows everyone that the people who told you that you’ll never accomplish anything playing video games are liars. That film is called Gran Turismo, and it is based on the true story of a race car driver who took his in-game high score and got the opportunity to challenge the best real-life racers in the world.
Here are his initial thoughts on the film after catching one of the last showings of it in his local theater. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, do not worry, this is a spoiler-free video.
Pokemon Go Update Causing Phantom Vibrations on iPhones September 4, 2023
Posted by Maniac in Game News.add a comment
Since Friday, iPhone owners of many different device models have noticed that their devices were spontaneously vibrating or double vibrating at random instances. It would not matter what program would be running, the device would just vibrate without reason or notification. This can be concerning to users, who could misinterpret random vibrations as device failure. Thankfully, for those of you experiencing this issue, I may have discovered a likely cause, Pokémon Go.
The issues began being reported on Friday. On that same day, Apple released an incremental update for Pokémon Go through the App Store. This update seems to have brought a lot of issues with it. After a lot of troubleshooting, I discovered that the phantom vibrations coincided with respawn notifications. The problem was vibrations were still going off when the program was supposed to be minimized and completely closed out.
The purpose of this article is to notify the masses of this discovery. At this time the only fix I’ve been able to confirm is to completely delete Pokémon Go until the issue is resolved. Game progress is cloud synced with your account, so as long as you remember your account information, you should be able to resume your in-game progress at a later time. Niantic is aware of the issue and is investigating potential causes.
Pokémon Go is out now for Android and iOS devices.
