The biggest release this summer for the Wii U is undoubtably Mario Kart 8, the newest installment in the same franchise which has seen a release for the SNES, N64, GBA, GC and 3DS.
But just what will the game be bringing to the table? Since the game was made playable across the country during last year’s E3, we haven’t seen a lot of new information about the game. Today, that ends. Check out the video below.
Any player who registers the game on Club Nintendo before July 31st, 2014 will get the chance to download a selected game for free through the Wii U Nintendo eShop.
Mario Kart 8 is coming May 30th, 2014 exclusive to the Wii U.

Waiting for Halo 4 (Creator’s Commentary) April 24, 2014

Can you believe its been over a year since we released the documentary “Waiting for Halo 4”? For those of you who haven’t seen it, it detailed the excruciating five year wait between the release of Halo 3 and Halo 4. It was pretty well received by the people who watched it, and in fact, one of the commentators requested that we release it on DVD or Blu-Ray Disc. While we can’t release the film on disc, we certainly have the ability to release special features for the documentary on the web for anyone to see. So, one year after it’s release, Maniac has recorded a complete audio commentary track. Check it out.
You can watch the original version of the documentary here.

THEATRHYTHM Final Fantasy: Curtain Call Announced for North America April 22, 2014

The music from the Final Fantasy series is considered by many to be some of the finest music ever written for video games. Much of it has been rereleased through fan compilations, or covered by professionals. Heck, Video Games Live chose to include a track from Final Fantasy VIII to start off their Level 3 Album. I mean, the battle fanfare is so well known people have used it as their ringtones!
To celebrate all the music over the course of the 20+ years of this incredible franchise, Square Enix released THEATRHYTHM: Final Fantasy for iOS and 3DS several years ago. It included tracks from each of the thirteen main Final Fantasy games and a ton of unlockable special features. Recently, I dug through every retailer I could just so I could find a copy of the game, and was really happy I did.
However, by only including songs from the main thirteen games, Square Enix missed out on the chance to include the tracks they produced for several Final Fantasy spin off games, as well as songs from more recent releases like Final Fantasy XIV or Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. To remedy this, Square Enix has been working on the first official sequel to the THEATRHYTHM series, THEATRHYTHM: Final Fantasy Curtain Call, but up until today we believed this game would only be released in Japan.
Today, I am proud to announced that Square Enix has revealed their plans to release THEATRHYTHM: Final Fantasy Curtain Call in North America this year. Take a look!
THEATRHYTHM: Final Fantasy Curtain Call is coming this year to the Nintendo 3DS.
