iOS 17.2 Released December 11, 2023

A major update has just been released for Apple devices and computers. The new update, iOS 17.2, includes the highly anticipated Journal application, as well as Spacial Video recording on iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max. In my opinion, Spacial Video was THE feature iPhone 15 Pro was holding over earlier phones, and its delayed launch was disappointing.

This update also concludes film purchase/rental integration with the iTunes Store. From now on, film purchases and rentals will need to be made through the Apple TV application. This will likely be a hard divorce as the new store interface is not as elegant to navigate as the previous option.

Depending on your device, the update can weigh in around 1.25GB. Updates for the Apple TV, Mac and Apple Watch have also been released.

Gaming With Long Hair, When Is it A Problem? December 10, 2023

For the longest time, gaming has been seen as a rebellious activity engaged in by young people who were intelligent enough to make use of the technology of their time. Since their parents and older family never grew up with the same technology and were not familiar with it, they viewed gaming as a hostile activity. Somehow, this made gaming a rebellious action, and it was in good company.

Before gaming was considered a rebellious activity, counter-culture activists engaged in their own form of rebellion, they allowed their hair to grow (Ed Note: “Gasp!”).

Well, I can attest, I absolutely hate haircuts and I HATE the appearance of my hair when it is short. So, here’s an entire video of Maniac talking about gaming with hair. Are there any actual legitimate problems of having long hair when you play video games? Watch and find out!

Halo is coming back in live-action! The folks over at Paramount+ have revealed a new season of Halo is coming, and here is the first official trailer for it.

If you’re like most people and haven’t seen the first season of Halo, (Ed Note: since most people do not have Paramount+ and will never purchase a subscription to it), YouTube is currently hosting the entire first season (all nine episodes) for a limited time.

Halo: The Series season 2 is coming to Paramount+ in February 2024. The first season ended up getting released on Blu-Ray, 4K disc and iTunes a few months after the season wrapped, so there’s a good chance we will eventually get to watch it on a medium people actually use eventually.

The new update, depending on your device, could weigh in between 150-450MB. There does not appear to be an update for the Apple Watch or Apple TV at this time. We have not tested if a Mac update was also released.

Three of the greatest superhero games ever made are being remastered for the Nintendo Switch, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight, as Batman: Arkham Trilogy. The rerelease will include the original three Rocksteady games, as well as all of the DLC costumes and expansions that were included in the original titles.

To celebrate the launch, DC has released the game’s official launch trailer. It’s a great walk through memory lane, or if you prefer…a walk through Arkham. Check it out.

Batman: Arkham Trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch on December 1st, 2023.
