Today is the day people have been waiting over ten years for! Square Enix has officially released Kingdom Hearts III to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Here’s the game’s official launch day trailer.

Tomorrow, a game many people have been waiting over ten years for will be released. Kingdom Hearts III is the final game in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, meant to finally tie up all the loose ends left throughout the previous games. For new players interested in picking up this new game, I recommend obtaining Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far for the PS4. It includes HD versions of all the games previously ported to the PS3 and they look phenomenally. If you’re like me and you haven’t been able to get through the hundreds of hours of gameplay recently, it always helps to have a referesher. Square Enix officially released these referesher videos about the previous games. They’re presented in five parts.
I also recommend a few animated Disney films which trailers have confirmed players will be visiting in Kingdom Hearts III. Tangled, Frozen, Toy Story, Big Hero 6, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Kingdom Hearts III is out at midnight for the PS4 and Xbox One.
Fantastic Update Released for Spider-Man on PS4, Two Free Suits Added January 28, 2019

Two weeks ago, Marvel announced the return of the Fantastic Four in Marvel’s video games. During the end of that broadcast they teased a “Fantastic” update would be coming to Spider-Man on the PS4 but neglected to go into further detail about what that meant. Speculation ran rampant about what the update would entail and everything from new suits, new missions, or the return of the Baxter Building were discussed. Today, Insomniac released two new Fantastic Four related suits for Spider-Man on the PS4 completely free of charge.
The first suit included in the patch is probably one of the most requested suits for the game and a suit I declared months ago would have the lowest chance of appearing in the game, the Bombastic Bagman suit. In the comics, it was a temporary suit Peter Parker used which incorporated a Fantastic Four uniform made up of special unstable molecules and a paper bag. You could tell Spidey didn’t have much time to put that one together. Sadly the in-game suit lacks the distinctive “Kick Me” sign seen in the comics, but otherwise the suit’s detail is extraordinary. The second new suit included in the patch is known as the Future Foundation suit. It is a special suit invented by the Fantastic Four for Spider-Man during the time he joined the team following the death of Johnny Storm.
You should be able to receive the new suits and a few bug fixes with the game’s most recent free patch right now. Stay tuned, we will be doing a live stream with the suits later today!

Travis Strikes Again – Skill Chip Trailer January 25, 2019

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes has been out on the Nintendo Switch for a week and while critics have been divided on it, we absolutely loved it. Part of the fun of the game involves seeking out and using Skill Chips. Throughout the game you’ll find these secret items that look like DS game carts. After finding them, you can apply them on your character’s stat screen for a special ability. The ability you get will depend on the chip you found.

Development Update on Metroid Prime 4 January 25, 2019

When Metroid Prime 4 was announced just before the start of E3 2017, the entire convention center went crazy. After that announcement we haven’t heard any new information about the game. Nintendo posted this video early this morning to give a progress update on Metroid Prime 4. You might want to sit down before watching it.
Metroid Prime 4 is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.
Let’s Play Spider-Man on PS4 Pro Part 7 and 8 January 24, 2019

We are back to our live stream of Spider-Man on the PS4 Pro. In Part 7, we decided to wrap up all the leftover side missions we had been neglecting all over NYC. In Part 8 we resume the game’s story and play through one of the most emotionally difficult parts of the entire game. All footage was recorded off a PS4 Pro with full video commentary.

We are days away from the highly anticipated release of Kingdom Hearts III. Square Enix has just released this gameplay overview trailer which details everything the player will be able to do in this new game. This is a good video to watch if you’re new to the series or if you’re a long-time fan in need of a refresher.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to brush up on several decades of Disney animated films before the game comes out.

Maniac is back in the boots of Spider-Man as he gets to play through the level originally shown at E3 2017. Maniac was actually at that event and got to see the demo for the first time live on stage. Let’s see how he feels about the finished version of the level.

iOS 12.1.3 Released January 22, 2019

Apple has released a slew of updates for many of their products this evening. That includes everything from Mac to iPhone. Today’s minor update for iOS 12-powered iPhones and iPads includes multiple bug fixes and optimizations with no new major features. iOS 12.1.2, which was only released for iPhones, added many bugs to iDevices, and this new version hopes to fix them.
You can download the update through your device’s software update feature or through iTunes. Depending on your device you will need to download around 250MB.

It’s Sunday and welcome back to Gaming History You Should Know, where we feature some of the best fan-created content from across the entire internet. On Friday, the Nintendo Switch saw the release of Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, the third game in the No More Heroes series.
No More Heroes has been a franchise that we’ve covered in the past but haven’t been able to give an in-depth discussion as of late. The games were directed by Suda51 and follow the exploits of Travis Touchdown, a gamer who tries to become the world’s greatest assassin. The game’s themes are deeply rooted in gaming, anime, and Japanese culture and hold a special place in my heart. While the newest game has been considered by most critics and fans to be a spin-off of the original games, it does follow story and plot from the first two games in the NMH franchise.
YouTube creator GhenryPerez is a big fan of game developers like Platinum Games and Grasshopper Manufacture. He’s also a big fan of the work of Suda51, and has created an ongoing analysis series of his games, Deadly Individualism. Up to this point GhenryPerez has featured six of Suda51’s games in that series, starting with Killer7. It’s a great video series which breaks down every single character in the game, talks about their motivations, and offers some behind the scenes histories on their development.
