On the night of the PS4’s launch, Developer Naughty Dog showed a teaser for what they revealed to be the next Uncharted game. Since then the speculation hasn’t stopped. There were no familiar voices or images in that teaser trailer and a lot of gamers were concerned that the game would not feature the staple characters of the series like Nathan Drake and Victor “Sully ” Sullivan. Well, tonight at Sony’s E3 Press Conference, those questions were answered.
Anyone else notice that ring on Drake’s finger?
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is coming in 2015 exclusively to the PS4.
Rest in Peace, JewWario January 28, 2014

Saturday night I received incredibly shocking and distressing news that Justin Carmical, better known to the rest of the internet as JewWario, had died. A former member of That Guy With the Glasses, Justin had one hell of a career as a video game journalist. He was the host of You Can Play This, an import game review series, participated in three anniversary features for TGWTG (Kickassia, Suburban Knights, and To Boldly Flee), and he was also contributing to William “Suede” Dufrense’s review series on the Pokémon feature films.
I know this is not late breaking news, as many other organizations and people have reported on this since the internet heard the news some time around Saturday. Having never met the man myself, I can only speculate on how to feel, but after pondering it for several days now I don’t know if I’m any closer to being able to express my feelings about this. Needless to say, I truly respected the man’s work. I thought he provided a unique perspective on his videos, and had a style all his own.
I can think of no better way to honor the man I respect than to show some of my favorite work of his. The following was a short film he did on the third anniversary of his channel. In it, he discovers a new power he can use to fight a new evil. You can watch it part 1 here and part 2 here.
Justin was planning to create an entire webseries for his FamiKamen Rider character. Now, we will never be able to see it.
Rest in Peace good sir.
Gaming History You Should Know – The Zelda Timeline January 4, 2014

Now that we have officially kicked off the start of the New Year, I thought it would be helpful for anyone who was interested in the history behind the gaming industry to learn more about the subject we love, or for people who are familiar with the history of gaming to brush up on their information. I have scoured the internet for some of the best history videos on a variety of gaming topics, and this weekend I’m planning on sharing some of the best of that information with all of you.
The Legend of Zelda is one of the most beloved series that Nintendo has produced, but also one of their most controversial among fans. With well over twenty years of games being produced by Nintendo with very few story threads to connect each of them, people have been debating the order the games take place. I know that during The Legend of Zelda’s 25th Anniversary, I talked about the Angry Video Game Nerd’s video where he discussed this issue, and I’m happy to say that since James Rolfe produced that video, Nintendo finally released an official timeline which made it clear what order all the games in the series takes place. Using that information, the guys at GameTrailers.com produced one fantastic video which they posted up in three parts. It’s a great video which clears up a lot of the controversy, using direct information provided by Nintendo and the games themselves. Just remember, there isn’t just one or two Zelda Timelines, there are three…

Ever wondered who would win in an all out fight to the end, Lara Croft or Nathan Drake? Well, wonder no further. Director Aaron Schoenke, has answered that question for us in the latest episode of his series Super Power Beat Down. This month we’ve been provided the battle we’ve all wanted to see.
On the one side we have Nathan Drake, the hero of Uncharted, a killer Sony Playstation exclusive series. On the other side is Lara Croft, heroine of the multiplatform Tomb Raider series. Both of them treasure hunters skilled in multiple fighting styles ranging from martial arts to parkour and gunplay. This is a battle of the sexes that couldn’t be better matched.

Lara Croft vs Nathan Drake Teaser July 11, 2012

My good friends over at Bat in the Sun, who previously had made Batman short films greatly inspired by games like Batman: Arkham Asylum, have announced the newest lineup for their series Super Power Beat Down.
Super Power Beat Down takes two of the most popular characters in comics, science fiction, and video games and pits them against one another while an expert panel discusses their strengths and weaknesses. It’s a great series with high production values and a great deal of humor. Previous episodes have pitted Batman against Wolverine, Gandolf against Darth Vader and had a drag race between two iconic Batmobiles.
The next episode is going to be the first time Super Power Beat Down has featured two iconic video game characters, and they couldn’t be better matched. Nathan Drake, from the Playstation-Exclusive series Uncharted will be matched up against Lara Croft from the multiplatform series Tomb Raider. As treasure hunters, both bring acrobatics, cunning and weapons expertise to the game.
I have to say that this matchup has divided the site contributors as I happen to favor Nathan Drake in this match whereas Princess Angel favors Lara Croft.
Director Aaron Schoenke promises the new episode will be posted after the San Diego Comic Con and encourages anyone attending the convention to come check them out, as they will be in attendance.

With ConnectiCon happening in just a few weeks I thought it was important to brush up on some new terms.
There is going to be a wide variety of RPGs played at the convention ranging from pen and paper to live action role playing.
While doing some research on the subject I came across a hilarious list of role playing game terms, only this list focused on pen and paper games and LARPs.
Give it a read, you might get a good laugh. Check it out here.
More Terms You Should Know (Console and Japanese RPGs) May 31, 2012

Given the subject matter of the next site video is classic Japanese Role Playing Games I thought it was time to talk about a web page that for over ten years I have personally cited back to as the encyclopedia all gamers and game developers should be aware of.
The Grand List of Console Role Playing Game Clichés is a web page which details all the major and minor clichés you will find in most classic role playing games. The site’s focus is on console, or Japanese RPGs, not western, live action, or pen and paper, but just that one genre alone has spawned so many games just reading the clichés almost feels like you’re reading a history article about the whole genre.
The site stopped updating around 2005, and the webmaster stated that he felt comfortable he had found all of them. While its no longer updated the site is still up and active for all to see, and I think it serves as a perfect time capsule for these games and the memories we have playing them.
If you haven’t read it before, check it out. If you have read it before, but just not in a really long time, take a look at it again it’s a great trip down memory lane.
You can expect a new site video later today!
