For the sixth gameXcess.net podcast, I discuss the multiplatform franchise Dead Space from EA and Visceral Games.  Since 2008, there have been two multiplatform main games, one Wii game, two animated features, an iPhone/iPad game, and several novels.  In the podcast, I talk about my first experiences with the game, why I enjoyed it so much, my background with horror and where I think the series is headed next.

Check back next time for a podcast discussion on Gears of War!

Since the last podcast I’ve done covered a currently Xbox 360 exclusive game, I decided to do a Sony exclusive property this time around and talk about the Resistance series, which has currently released three games for the Playstation 3, one for the Playstation Portable, an online social game, and one is currently in development for the Playstation Vita.

The very first Resistance game, Resistance: Fall of Man, was a launch title for the Playstation 3 and was considered by everyone to be the must have game for anyone interested in buying the Playstation 3 and the later games in the series were heavily anticipated (and in some cases controversial).

As I usually do with these podcasts I talk a little bit about the history of the game series, how it affected me personally, and what I’m looking forward to.  Check it out!

By popular request, next up will be the multiplatform game series Dead Space by EA.

Maniac does his new podcast on Alan Wake, which, unlike the previous podcasts which discussed franchises which saw many game releases, is a franchise that so far has released just one game.  For a game that has only one release so far, has six years of stories from its development and with new games on the horizon the potential to become a major franchise.

In the podcast, he talks about the history of the game’s development, what has been released so far and what’s coming up next for the franchise.

The long promised third official gameXcess.net podcast has been released.  I know I had talked about getting this done over a week ago on the twitter feed, but the preperation time for the podcast was a bit longer than I had expected.

It’s a hefty podcast, clocking in at over an hour and twenty minutes in length, my longest podcast to date.  The reason for the extra length of the podcast is because I talked about more than just personal anecdotes involving the God of War game series, I also talk about the game’s history.  There have been five games (with two bundled HD re-releases) over the past six years.  There was A LOT to talk about.

Enjoy everyone, Kratos be with you!

The second official gameXcess.net podcast has been released, and this time the topic of discussion is Metal Gear Solid.  I take this one alone this time.  I talk about some of my fondest Metal Gear Solid memories, starting with my first exposure to the series back in 1999 and what happened during the twelve years since then.

I’ve been trying to have an official site podcast for a few months now, and now that YouTube has lifted the 15 minute restriction from my account (again) I finally have a way to get it out there.  (I can’t host audio files on the site, I have no idea why).

With Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary coming out next week, I decided to call up diskreader117 and talk to him about what our favorite Halo memories have been over the past ten years, and trust me there have been quite a few!  So please give it a listen!
