This month marks the 26th anniversary of the release of Metroid in Japan, and boy what a ride has it been.  What a better time for Maniac to do a podcast about Metroid by Nintendo.  Give it a listen and hear him talk about the series, its history, what his experiences were playing it, and where he thinks the platform is going.

No More Heroes Podcast June 18, 2012

With the release of Lollipop Chainsaw this week, Maniac decides to talk about an earlier game series director Suda51 created, No More Heroes for the Nintendo Wii.

This is without a doubt his favorite third-party franchise on the Wii, and was an amazingly mature breath of fresh air in an otherwise completely Nintendo dominated platform.  Give a listen to Maniac as he gives his unscripted thoughts on this series which since its inception has spawned a direct sequel and HD re-releases.  He also talks about how the game’s development impacted his life personally and where he thinks the series is headed next.

This is the long-awaited eleventh gamexcess.net podcast, and by request I’m keeping it old-school, and you really can’t get more old-school than the Unreal series by Epic Games.

In this new podcast, Maniac talks about the glory days of the original Unreal Tournament, LAN Parties with Linux users, being one of the first people to see Unreal Engine 3 and all the great steps and not so great steps that the series has taken over the years!

The gameXcess.net podcast has returned!  In the latest episode, Maniac talks about the Jedi Knight series published by Lucasarts.  In it, he talks about his first exposure to Jedi Knight, gives some behind the scenes information about the series and conjectures where he thinks the series is headed.

Podcast 9 – The Darkness February 27, 2012

It’s time for the next site podcast!  Fueled by the recent release of The Darkness II and all the promotional events that have gone along with it, Maniac has devoted the ninth site podcast to The Darkness, a game series which has seen two game releases since 2007.

In it, Maniac talks about its origins as a comic book by Top Cow, his first exposure to the series, all the promotional events he participated in for the second game, and his favorite parts of the series.  If you’re interested in the game series, give it a listen!

The Darkness II is out now for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

The latest site podcast covers the Uncharted series for the Sony Playstation 3 (and soon Playstation Vita handheld).  In it, Maniac talks about his initial memories of it, what he thinks of the games, and what he’s seen of the upcoming Uncharted Golden Abyss for the Playstation Vita.
