With the release of Lollipop Chainsaw this week, Maniac decides to talk about an earlier game series director Suda51 created, No More Heroes for the Nintendo Wii.
This is without a doubt his favorite third-party franchise on the Wii, and was an amazingly mature breath of fresh air in an otherwise completely Nintendo dominated platform. Give a listen to Maniac as he gives his unscripted thoughts on this series which since its inception has spawned a direct sequel and HD re-releases. He also talks about how the game’s development impacted his life personally and where he thinks the series is headed next.

Happy Father’s Day everyone! Since it’s a holiday, that means that our friend Julian Day will talk to us from his cell in Arkham City! For those of you who have picked up the Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, this will probably be the first time you’ll have gotten a chance to talk to him, so I included a reminder for new players where to go in order to find him.
Nine trips down, that means that there are three more to go. The next time he’ll talk to us will be on July 4th, Independence Day. Come back then!
Batman: Arkham City is out now for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 and a Game of the Year Edition is currently out for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 which includes all released downloadable content on a seperate bonus disc. A Wii U version, entitled Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition is also coming!

The special video I promised all of you would be coming this week is finally here. Today, Maniac unboxes Lollipop Chainsaw, directed by Suda51 (director of No More Heroes) and published by WB (publisher of Mortal Kombat).
But that’s not the surprise. For the first time in gameXcess.net history, Maniac isn’t doing an unboxing alone. Joining him is Princess Angel, his girlfriend and a fellow gamer, and she has plenty she wants to say about the game as well.
Do not try this at home kids!
Lollipop Chainsaw is out now for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Inspired by the good deals he got online, Maniac decided to go looking for some deals in his local game stores. Joined by Twitch, who had a lead of his own on a new game store they hadn’t previously heard of, Maniac and Twitch just spent their Saturday night shopping for games and looking for deals. They ended up with a lot more than what they bargained for and wanted to share the story and the game deals with all of you.

Maniac Shreds a PSN Card June 2, 2012

After shooting the Final Fantasy Deals video I received a lot of comments from people online that if I wanted a copy of Final Fantasy VII, the best option for me monetarily would be to buy it off the Playstation Network and download it to my Playstation 3 or Playstation Portable. After what happened with the PSN a few months ago I have not been able to trust the network with my credit card since, so I decided instead to buy a prepaid Playstation Network card from my local vendor.
Well, the card was redeemed, it worked. Final Fantasy VII was downloading. Not much to do with the card after that. Lets destroy it!
Final Fantasy Deals May 31, 2012

Inspired by the reviews of The Spoony One and after years of hearing praise for them by his peers, Maniac just bought a shipment of brand new older games from a very famous (and infamous) game series, Final Fantasy.
He had been meaning to get the games for quite a long time and couldn’t pass them up at their current prices. The problem was that while he got a great deal on the games he purchased, he couldn’t explain why there were other games in the series (which had been re-released just as many times as the other games) which had prices through the roof.
What did he pick up? How much did they cost? What is he looking for? Check out the video and find out.
Square. Take a look at the popularity of your back catalog. Reprint them.

Maniac spent Memorial Day Weekend playing Sorcery for the Playstation Move. After beating the game, he sure has a lot to say about it.
If you have any ideas about topics for future videos, please feel free to post a comment!
Sorcery Unboxing May 26, 2012

Maniac decided to treat himself to the Playstation Move exclusive game Sorcery, which, even though has been recently released has been very difficult to find people selling it. The game really wowed him when it was first shown off at the Sony E3 2009 Press Conference and he had been waiting anxiously, Playstation Move in hand, for the day to come when the game would be released.
Bit of a note on this video. When Maniac picked it up at Best Buy earlier today he noticed the disc sounded loose in the case and this video was recorded to see if the game needed to be returned.
