Maniac and Princess Angel were honored to attend ConnectiCon 2018 this past weekend at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT. While not all of the video and photos we took at the event have been uploaded, we were able to get some of the content we produced at the show online. Let’s take a closer look at some of it, shall we?

First off, we need to share with you a closer look at the convention space itself. If you’d like to see how big this year’s convention was, we brought a T-Rex with us to walk the floor and take some pictures with guests. Enjoy.

Next up, we’re going to show you an example of what it’s like to attend a celebrity panel. The legendary Jon St John, best known as the voice of Duke Nukem in Duke Nukem 3D and Duke Nukem Forever, was at the 2018 ConnectiCon and attended several panels and even free autograph signings. Here’s a snippet from a special private panel where he talks about how he got the role of Duke Nukem and what it’s meant for his career.

Art The Hypnotist is another long standing ConnectiCon celebrity guest. He is known for his ability to mesmerize a crowd to make them do his bidding, all for our entertainment. In this clip, we see him get a crowd of previously hypnotized people to perform a song and dance number of Gotta Catch Em All, the theme to the Pokémon television series.

Finally, we got something really special for you all. If you’re going to attend a ConnectiCon, either now or in the future the one special event you MUST attend is the DeathMatch on Saturday. Hosted by Mookie, the DeathMatch is a mix of role-play and audience participation. In it, costumed characters are pitted against each other two by two. While they cannot speak, each must look for the approval of the massive crowd. The winner (based on audience applause), defeats their opponent and moves on to the next round. The loser gets taken by the zombies.

How big is the event? Here’s some footage of its opening, and the lineup of participants in this year’s event. Take a look!

Congratulations to the 2018 DeathMatch winner, Jackie Chan.

We are still going through a lot of the raw videos and photographs we took of the event, so you’ll have to bear with us and wait patiently for more of our content from the event. Tickets for ConnectiCon 2019 are now on sale.

Welcome back to Maniac’s Kitchen, where we share recipes and reviews of food made for gamers. 2018 feels like one of the hottest Summers in history and what better way to cool off than with the perfect summer drink, Lemonade. However, this is a gaming website so we’re going to put our own spin on the drink. That means it will have lots (and lots) of sugar!

Thanks for joining us! Next time in Maniac’s Kitchen we’ll be sharing our special Guacamole recipe. If you had ideas for future recipes or foods we should try, leave a message below!

Midsummer Fantasy Renaissance Faire 2018 Review Part 1 July 10, 2018

The Midsummer Fantasy Renaissance Faire 2018 just wrapped up this past Sunday. It has been held at the Warsaw Park in Ansonia, CT for several years now and we have been attending them for quite a while. Unlike other Renaissance Faires that pride themselves on historical accuracy, the MFRF draws its inspiration from J.R.R. Tolkien, Dungeons & Dragons, Final Fantasy, and even Pokémon.

We have previously reviewed MFRFs from 2015 and 2016. Upon popular request, we’re going to review this year’s event! Buckle in, because we’re going to be taking about almost every aspect of this year’s faire. That includes the event’s story, the acts, the food and the vendors! Enjoy!

Stay tuned for Part 2 where we talk about last Saturday night’s epic Fireworks Finale!

It’s been a long road getting from there to here, but like the song goes, our time is finally near. Maniac chose to play his second game of Detroit: Become Human as differently as he could from the first time he played it. He had no idea what he was in for.

Will Kara, Luthor and Alice survive? Will Connor remain a machine? Will Markus start his revolution peacefully or violently? Watch, find out what happened, and enjoy hearing our final thoughts about the game and our thoughts on recent gaming news. All gameplay footage is recorded with full video commentary.

Just be aware this is just one possible playthrough of the game with one possible outcome. There are literally hundreds of other ways to play the game, alternate scenes, and many more different endings. In fact, part of the reason why Maniac was so quiet in the recycling center was because he was unprepared for the images he was going to see…because he never played the scene in his first playthrough of the game. Just because you’ve seen us play the game doesn’t mean you’ve seen the entire game.

Detroit: Become Human is out now exclusively for PlayStation 4.

Most of the time on Tales From IT, Maniac tells a story about a time when he was expected to fix an essential computer despite only being called once the computer is past the point of no return. Today, Maniac will be sharing a funny story about a unique IT job he got called for at a Private School. It was a simple job, nothing essential was at stake, but once he got there he realized he stuck out like a sore thumb.
