For those of you who may have watched the Metroid Podcast and have interest in seeing anything I mentioned in it, fear not because here’s a list of links for everything that I talked about in the podcast.
- If you want to watch the video produced by Clan of the Gray Wolf, where The Commodore remembers when he first beat the original Metroid, and how he reacted to the revelation that Samus Aran was a woman, you can watch the Metroid episode of Painful Memories in Gaming here.
- If you want to watch the Metroid Retrospective series produced by GameTrailers.com you can check out the entire five-part series here.
- If you want to watch the video retrospective I did last year when I completed all the Metroid Prime games at 100%, you can watch it here.
- You can also check my Twitter feed and dig through its archives from last year to check on how my Metroid Prime Trilogy game run was progressing.
- If you want to watch my tips on how to accumulate friend vouchers (which can be transferred to friends and become green credits) in Metroid Prime 3 and Metroid Prime Trilogy, check out this video I did with diskreader117 here.
Hope you enjoyed the podcast guys, enjoy the links!
Today is Batman Day July 19, 2012

Tonight at Midnight the Caped Crusader will make his triumphant live-action return to the silver screen after four years. The anticipation couldn’t be higher for director Christpher Nolan’s next film. While no one (except the Academy) would argue that The Dark Knight was the best picture of 2008, The Dark Knight Rises has some pretty big shoes to fill. However, given its successful track record, many are quite optimistic. To quote Doug Walker of That Guy with the Glasses from the ConnectiCon Press Panel this weekend, “It’ll probably bomb like Avengers!”
So just what are we talking about here? Take a look at this recent trailer.
So stay tuned to the site for the rest of the day, we’re going to be plastering the site with a ton of Batman related gaming content from all over the internet, as well as some cool news about the new movie.
Oh and when you do go to see the movie, make sure to see it in IMAX. And make sure when you do go to see the movie on IMAX that your IMAX theater meets two requirements. One, that it uses a proper 70mm IMAX film projector and second that the IMAX screen is at a 1.44.1 aspect ratio, which typical for traditional IMAX movies. Just ask if the theater is a square screen or taller than it is wider because that is the screen you want to see the movie on.
Unlike many other Hollywood movies which release to IMAX, The Dark Knight Rises is not an IMAX conversion, about half of the movie was shot with actual IMAX cameras at the IMAX aspect ratio. The only way you’ll be able to see all of what was shot will be in an IMAX theater.

Two Years! March 5, 2012

I have come to the realization that yesterday marked the two-year anniversary of the creation of this site. I am just blown away of all that’s happened to me since I launched the site two years ago and all the opportunities I’ve been given because of it.
I just wanted to make a short list of thanks to a few people who I greatly appreciate for helping in their own special ways.
- To diskreader117, for helping out when he can, and contributing to the site.
- To Matt Jersey, for the kick ass site logo which I have gotten so much use out of!
- To WordPress, my host, for some great site tools and opportunities.
- To Google, also for some great opportunities.
- To the Unknown Cameraperson, for helping me when they can. Could not have made some videos without you.
Finally, I would like to thank all of my regular site viewers for visiting. I’ve got a brand new video series coming, and you can expect it to launch tomorrow!
Here’s to two years, and plenty more to come!
Alan Wake Day Aftermath February 23, 2012

I want to thank everyone who participated in the site’s day of Alan Wake content. I’ve gotten a ton of positive comments about the videos from Alan Wake fans all over the world.
Since producing those videos the small cold I had has gotten a bit worse and because of that I’ve decided to hold off any further video production until it clears up. That said, written content can still be expected for the time being. Once I feel better I have a bunch of new ideas for video content that I can’t wait to start working on for all of you.
Thanks again, enjoy the site!
Site Sidebar Update February 1, 2012
Posted by Maniac in Site News.add a comment
Some of you may have noticed over the past day or two that the sidebar looks a tiny bit different than it used to. It does. I have slightly altered the appearance of the site categories tab to properly group together several article series which are a part of some of the larger general categories. I intended to have it appear this way when I first started to make smaller categories for different series, but I had to alter a setting in my site’s backend to make it appear that way. Now it should be clearer and easier to read.
The second thing you’ll notice is the new Histories section of the site. After completing my two-part series on the HD War, I was uncomfortable with grouping that series along with the usual Editorials tab because well lets face it, it wasn’t an opinion piece, it was a researched article. So I created a new section for the site, the Histories section, and have been going back and moving the history stories I’ve written for the site over the past two years to the new section. Because of that, the section is full of content by now, and I do plan to continue moving articles over to it I may have missed.

The Spike Video Game Awards show is on right now and I’m watching it yet again. You can catch it on the official site, but I’m posting up my initial thoughts as it happens on my twitter feed.
There have already been premieres of Mass Effect 3, Command & Conquer Generals 2, and Hitman! Alan Wake (XBLA) is up next!
