Since we upgraded to the Playstation 4, Maniac has been experimenting with doing live game streams on Twitch.TV with full picture in picture commentary for the website and has been quite pleased with the response.
So for anyone who visits the site on a regular basis, we would like to announce that we have established our own live game stream panel on Twitch.TV. The link can permanently be found under the Blogroll menu in the site’s lower right hand column.
If you’re a Twitch.TV member, be sure to subscribe to the channel to get the most up to date notifications on when we go live.
Destiny Alpha Test Initial Setup and Character Creation Video June 15, 2014

The creators of Halo are hard at work creating their next major franchise, and many gamers out there believe that their next game, Destiny, could be the biggest multiplatform hit of the year. This weekend, Sony and Bungie have teamed up to host an exclusive Alpha Test for the Playstation 4 version of the game, and we got a good look at it.
The Alpha Test starts off with an initial setup screen, character and class creation, and a love letter from Bungie themselves. If you’re not in the Destiny Alpha, this could be your first actual peek at the game. All footage was captured from the Playstation 4’s internal DVR.
Not enough for you? Don’t worry! More footage from the Destiny Alpha is on the way.
Destiny is coming to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One September 9th, 2014.

Happy 4th Anniversary, GameXcess.net! March 6, 2014
Posted by Maniac in Site News.1 comment so far
I have no idea how it could have slipped by me. On March 4th, 2014, this site crossed it’s fourth anniversary. That’s right, we have been running strong for over four years!
On this occasion, I would like to thank the following people.
Tommy Tallarico and the Video Games Live organization for kindly considering us when the Video Games Live Level 3 Album released. You can check out our review of the new album here.
The Elite 3: xJerry64x, 1Kidsentertainment, and Nowacking for their support and inspiration. If you haven’t checked it out yet, their four year anniversary also passed recently, and to celebrate it, they have redone the second episode of their hugely successful Pokémon Bridged series. You can watch it here.
Princess Angel, for her support and creating the awesome new site logo.
And finally, I want to thank all of you, the site visitors, who read the articles, follow us on Twitter, and watch our YouTube Videos.
We Have a New Site Banner October 13, 2013

In 2010, GameXcess.net had a logo created for us by graphic artist Matt Jersey. It was a beautiful piece of art which stayed with this site as it grew larger. I felt it embodied what our site stood for, a Generation X feel in modern day. It had a good run, but I felt that after three years of operation, GameXcess.net needed a refreshing new take on our logo. Today, Princess Angel has created a brand new banner for the site, and it is my pleasure to announce its premiere. Effective immediately, GameXcess.net is now using Princess Angel’s new site logo as our banner.
Many thanks to those of you who have stayed with us through the years. You can expect much more from us as we continue to move forward.
Histories Section Expanded September 2, 2013

Many of you guys have been enjoying the Video Game Handheld War series that I’ve been writing for the GameXcess.net History Section. I am happy to know that this series has been gaining so much popularity as it has been such a pleasure to write, and I have decided that more parts of the series will be written.
However, the Video Game Handheld War series is only the most recent ongoing series I have written for the site’s History section, and because of that I have expanded the GameXcess.net History Section in the site’s lower right sidebar. Now you can catch up on any part of our major ongoing history articles by simply clicking on the name of the series from any page on the website. Enjoy!
You can read about the ongoing Video Game Console War here. In this series anachronos and I write about all of the major console showdowns which have taken place since the days the original Nintendo Entertainment System battled with the Sega Master System up to this very day.
The decision on what would replace DVD as the preferred HD movie format was not an easy one, and would end up being decided by the consumers. You can read about the first HD Movie Format War between the Sony Blu-Ray Disc and Toshiba’s HD-DVD here.
You can read the three part series on The Life and Death of E for All here. This was a convention which tried to overtake the magic of the Electronic Entertainment Expo in the two year span that E3 decided to become a smaller event.
Finally, you can read every article on The Video Game Handheld War right here. In this ongoing series, we talk about the origins of Video Game Handheld Systems, and talk about every video game console battle starting with the days of the Nintendo Game Boy.
Do not worry, all of the latest articles in any further developing series will be added to those links as they are posted. Please feel free to post a comment on what you think of this update, and of any new ideas you may have on further history articles!
