Wake up, Samurai! The team over at CD PROJEKT RED have confirmed that they are about to release an important patch for the next-generation versions of Cyberpunk 2077 alongside the highly-anticipated Mac release tomorrow! The next patch, version 2.3, will include new missions, new playable vehicles, and an automatic drive mode for the game which will allow in-game photographers a great chance to snap some screenshots!

If you’d like to hear all the details about the game, check out the recent REDstream!

Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on Mac through services like GOG, STEAM and Apple’s Mac App Store. You’ll need an Apple Silicon Equipped Mac with 16GB of RAM and 96GB of storage minimum to play the Mac version of the game on Steam or GOG. If you already purchased the game on PC through either Steam or GOG, you should be able to get the equivalent Mac version of whichever version you purchased on PC. Much more storage is required if you plan to obtain the game through the App Store!

Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is out now for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Switch 2. It will launch tomorrow on Mac!

The Last of Us Part II Remastered Adds Chronological Game Mode July 9, 2025

The story of The Last of Us Part II is told in fragments, with different events taking place at different times. However, it succeeded in keeping its story structure by focusing on its core characters first before showing the perspectives of the other people involved.

Yesterday, Naughty Dog released a patch for the PS5 and PC which finally allows players to play through the game’s single-player campaign in the chronological order of events. It’s not a huge patch, at least not on the PS5, weighing in around 750MB. If you haven’t played the game in a while, or want to replay it in a whole new way, I think you should give it a shot!

The Last of Us Part II Remastered is out now for PC and PS5.

Stop Killing Games Surpasses 1.25 Million Signatures for their EU Petition July 9, 2025

Ross Scott has announced that the petition they filed in the European Union on behalf of his Stop Killing Games organization has surpassed 1.25 Million Signatures!

This is incredible news I never thought I would be fortunate enough to write about. The ongoing Sword of Damocles publishers and developers have forced into their games over the past twenty years has been the literal definition of anti-consumer practices, but without updated laws to cover software, these practices have continued without intervention for years. This petition will force the politicians of an entire continent to be made aware of these anti-consumer practices, and make their opinions on the matter known.

If you are living in a country that is part of the European Union and still want to check out the petition, you can find all the details about it here.

Anime Expo was this past weekend, and a lot of major news was announced to follow up with promises made late last year. However, during the Cyberpunk panel, we got an ENORMOUS surprise that nobody was expecting.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners season 2 will feature a new crew taking place after the events of the first season. Netflix has already confirmed they will be carrying the season when it releases, but we have no further details about any other organization offering it. Currently the second season has no release date.

Ladies and gentlemen, Ross Scott.

This is a truly upsetting outcome for a campaign many gamers are seeing as our last and only hope to protect us from the gaming industry’s push for more anti-consumer policies. Ross clearly had pure intentions with his campaign, but he believed he lacked the audience to get his message to the widest masses. Still, I will be looking forward to his next project.

Happy Free RPG Day 2025! Never forget that many of the video games we’ve been playing over the past 35 years were originally based upon rules that were created for gamers to play on tabletops worldwide with just pen, paper, some dice and their imaginations. Today, select local hobby shops across the US are going to have sample RPG sourcebooks for curious new customers. Some may even have exclusive events and promotions taking place as well.

If you’d like to see what is going on in your area, check out the event’s official website! Have fun!

One of the best games that caught my eye was during this year’s Summer Games Fest was the independent game MIXTAPE. Set in the time of the 90s, it follows several people who are planning the next step of their lives.

Shortly after Summer Games Fest wrapped, the game’s developer posted this brief look behind the scenes of the game. It’s not very in depth, but it does do a good job to show just what kind of people are making this game.

MIXTAPE is coming “soon” to PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S.

The guys over at Remedy have just released the next game in the Control universe, a multiplayer spin off called FBC Firebreak!

If you’re familiar with the events of Control, you’d know that it ended with the FBC still under lockdown but fully under the command of its new Director. Now it is six years later, The Hiss are still in the building, and the lockdown has not been lifted. So what do you say we watch this orientation video, shall we?

FBC Firebreak is out now for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Squid Research Report for Nintendo Switch 2 June 10, 2025

Nintendo just released this trailer for what looks like a brand-new game set in the Splatoon universe, and it has a giant NINTENDO SWITCH 2 logo attached to it!

Splatoon was without a doubt my favorite multiplayer game of the Wii U’s generation, and I felt that Splatoon 2 was an improvement on the first in nearly every way when it launched on the original Switch. I was very surprised to see that no Splatoon game was announced alongside the Switch 2 reveal, but I was willing to give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt that they would likely have one coming to the platform eventually. Now, it looks like that faith may have paid off!
