E3 2022 Will Be Virtual January 8, 2022

The Electronic Entertainment Expo has officially announced that their 2022 E3 event will once again be virtual. This will mark the third year no E3 event has taken place in a physical location, and all announcements from the event will once again be broadcasted over the web.
E3 has always held a special place in my heart since I first heard about it in 1999. To be allowed into E3 was a sign you had “made it” in the gaming industry, and it had been considered a high honor for your game to be previewed at the event. However, the current world events have made international travel a dicey prospect.
We will keep you all posted with the details on how to check out the event online as they are made available.

I’m so happy to make this announcement. We are big fans of the ongoing .HACK// (pronounced “Dot Hack “) franchise and its great to see the franchise get some love here in the West. Yesterday, Bandai Namco announced .HACK//G.U. LAST RECODE is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Here’s the official announcement trailer!
If you’re unfamiliar with .HACK//, and want a better idea as to why I’m so excited about this announcement I recommend you check out our coverage during last year’s Dot Hack Tribute Day!
Now if we can only get a remaster of the four original episodic games…or maybe a port of some of the later games that never released in the West.
.HACK//G.U. LAST RECODE is coming March 11th, 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. It is out now for PC and PS4.
The Final Nintendo Minute Has Been Posted December 20, 2021

It is the end of an era. Normally, we don’t talk about the Nintendo Minute, but today we had to make an exception. Nintendo Minute, was a video series on the official Nintendo YouTube channel where hosts Kit and Krista would complete silly challenges, preview upcoming games, and talk about Nintendo news. Today, that series has just posted its final episode. Please enjoy.
I admit I will miss this show, the hosts had great chemistry and it did expose me to some games I wouldn’t have played otherwise, like 198x. Kit and Krista, I salute you!

343 Industries has released a prequel series to Halo: Infinite in the form of an audio podcast. This is not unusual, as there was a podcast for Halo 5, and some of the content from Halo 2’s Ilovebees campaign certainly could be considered a precursor podcast before the word was officially coined.
The new series, Memory Agent, follows the story of a UNSC Lieutenant as they take on the momentous task of delivering an important encryption key to Master Chief. The series is currently in 6-parts and averages around 8 minutes an episode. The podcast is currently exclusive to Spotify and can only be listened to on that service. You can listen to all six parts here.
Halo: Infinite is out now for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Honestly, if you have a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, you MUST play the Spider-Man games from Insomniac. Not only do they have some of the most fun gameplay I’ve played in years, their stories hold up as some of the best of the entire franchise.
If you have a PS5 and haven’t picked up the game yet, here’s a new trailer for the Ultimate Edition, which includes PS5 remasters of the games with all new improved graphics, costumes and more.
