Posted by Maniac in Game News.add a comment
The eighth and final part of Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun has been posted on Xbox Live this week. The film is an homage to the classic b and c zombie films of the 70s and 80s, and was directed by the producer of the Dead Rising series.
The film is a part of the Dead Rising storyline. In it, we follow George, a Japanese teenager confined to a wheelchair, who needs to survive the zombie outbreak as it hits Japan. Along the way he makes friends and foes, and will need to keep his wits in order to survive.
Dead Rising 2 is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 September 28th.

It’s running in 720p at 60fps on an iPhone 4… I think the footage speaks for itself.
John Carmack you’ve done it again. Rage on iPhone is coming.
Mirror’s Edge iPhone (Finally) Released September 5, 2010

I was a huge Mirror’s Edge fan, a huge one. It was one of my favorite games of 2008, and while it wasn’t an instant hit, it certainly became one by 2009, when word of mouth started to spread about it. I picked up my copy for the PS3 around March or April of last year and loved it dearly. It was a new kind of game, with a new mechanic and style that was fun to play, and the art was amazing.
You may remember one of the first stories I covered for this site was the announcement that Mirror’s Edge was coming to the iPhone in April. It did, but only for the iPad. I figured it had to be a matter of time before the iPhone release came. Months passed, and I started to lose hope.
Today, as I was showing my sister’s boyfriend how to navigate the iTunes App Store on his new iPhone 4, I saw Mirror’s Edge listed on the top of the recommendation page, for $4.99 US. It is currently compatible with iPhone 3G, and iPhone 4. I haven’t tested it on an iPhone 3GS but I’m sure it works if you have iOS4 installed. It also was tested on an iPad (my sister’s BF got the wrong version on his iPad, but it ran just fine, just with a lot of aliasing). Short of it, if you own an iPad, buy the iPad version for best visuals. The game is also designed for better image quality on iPhone 4’s screen.
Mirror’s Edge can be purchased for iPhone and iPad through the iTunes App Store. If you enjoyed the original console/pc game, you owe it to yourself to give this one a go on your personal device of choice.

To coincide with PAX, Disney and Junction Point Studios have released the full version of the opening scene to Epic Mickey, currently slated for a Holiday release for the Nintendo Wii.
Watching this scene makes me feel like a kid in Disney World all over again. Classic style of the original cartoons, check. Mickey Mouse, Yensid, and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, check.
Disney’s Epic Mickey is coming November 2011 to Nintendo Wii.
God of War Ghost of Sparta Demo Codes Being E-mailed September 3, 2010
Posted by Maniac in Game News.add a comment
I signed up for the “Spartan Army” around the time of the release of God of War 3 so I could post on their official forums and be briefed of any news of the upcoming game. I didn’t think much else of it, especially so many months after God of War 3 was released.
Well it seems that wasn’t very forward thinking, as I received an email from Sony not too long ago giving me a code to download a demo for the upcoming God of War: Ghost of Sparta game for the PSP.
If you have a PSP and want to try to get your hands on the demo, sign up for the Spartan Army at God of War’s official site, and make sure to link up your Playstation Network account.
God of War: Ghost of Sparta is coming November 2nd, 2010 for the PSP.
Duke Nukem Forever Playable at PAX September 3, 2010

HUGE news today, probably the biggest news I’ve ever reported, probably the biggest news any gaming journalist has ever reported. Attendees at PAX Seattle are going to have a big playable suprise when they go over there, development of Duke Nukem Forever has been continued by Gearbox (makers of Borderlands, Brothers in Arms and Halo PC), and a playable version of it is being featured on the show floor for attendees to play.
After the lawsuit between 3D Realms and Take-2 Interactive was dropped, 3D Realms enlisted Gearbox to finish the game for them. Working with all the tools and assets that 3D Realms provided for them, Gearbox is on track to finishing the game. According to them, the game is currently being polished and is on track for release.
I never thought I’d say this but…Duke Nukem Forever is coming for the PC next year. In other news, Hell has officially frozen over.
UPDATE: My apologies, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions have also been confirmed.

Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun, an eight-part short film, is avalible for download on Xbox Live marketplace, free of charge. It is a live-action film remincant of classic zombie movies, and is considered a part of the Dead Rising story.
Zombrex: Dead Rising Sun will also be included in the Xbox 360 version of the Dead Rising Collector’s Edition, called the Zombrex Edition.
The official website for the film is the official website for the product Zombrex, which you can check out right here. You can also check out the latest news on Zombrex, download consumer information on the drug (in .pdf) and view its latest commercials.
UPDATE: It seems CAPCOM pulled all the viral sites they had up to promote Dead Rising 2, I don’t know if this is intentional or a mistake, espessially given that it is so close to PAX. Because of that the links are dead, I swear they were working when I posted them this afternoon, and yesterday.
UPDATE 2: Site’s back up.
George Broussard Shows Pigs Are Flying September 2, 2010

George Broussard’s Twitter Account clearly shows an image of pigs flying. This is a play on a typical english saying which translates to (for our international visitors, who are perfectly welcome and loved by all) “something that will NEVER happen”.
As for things that never happen, coincidently, George Broussard has been working on a game for about 13 years called Duke Nukem Forever that most people have agreed will never see release.
Tomorrow if the first day of the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Seattle, Wa. Could this tweet be a tease for an announcement tomorrow?
Dead Rising 2 Developer Diaries September 1, 2010

After the release of Dead Rising 2: Case Zero yesterday, I couldn’t be more psyched for the release of Dead Rising 2. While I was browsing for some new information about the game, I found Capcom has created these pretty interesting developer diaries including interviews and footage of the game. They’re a great watch, and they feature some new tidbits of information about gameplay and story.
I just have one thing to say. Giant Stuffed Teddy Bear brandishing an AK Powered by a Car Battery, sign me up!
Dead Rising 2 is coming September 28th, 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Epic Announces Unreal Engine Game for iPhone September 1, 2010

I can sum the game up in just a few words. Competitive multiplayer sword-based combat. Okay so that’s five, or maybe four, what’s the word count rules when you use a hyphen?
Project Sword is coming to iOS 4.1, and it will feature incredible graphics and multiplayer powered by the iPhone’s upcoming gamecenter feature (which was announced with iOS4 but isn’t going to see a release until iOS4.1, coming next week). That could also mean cross-platform achievements unlockables, but that’s just speculation on my part based upon what was said about gamescenter’s capabilities.
Project Sword will see an iPhone release Holiday 2010.
