PS4 Firmware 6.50 Released – Remote Play on SmartPhone Support Expanded March 8, 2019

A major system software update has been released for the PlayStation 4. The new version, 6.50 adds a Remote Play feature for compatible smartphones and tablets. Remote Play is not a new feature and was even offered on the PS3. However, on that console there were big limitations and few games actually supported it. Today, that changes.
Before today, PS4 Remote Play was only supported by the PlayStation Vita and a very select group of Sony Smartphones. Now that the Vita has ceased production (and by all accounts was an unfortunate failure) it looks like Sony is bringing this feature to the vast majority of handheld phones that can make use of it.
The 6.50 update is required to use the PlayStation Network. You’ll need to download the official Sony Remote Play app to use the feature with your smart device.

Happy Pokémon Day! Ladies and gentlemen, The President of The Pokémon Company.
Big announcements come in this short video today. First off, Pokémon’s traditional gameplay components look to be back. You seem to be able to battle wild Pokémon in this game. The newest region seems to be based on a Western European country, possibly Norway or Holland. This makes sense, as many young people backpack across Europe in a very similar way to a real-life Pokémon journey.
We don’t know what other Pokémon surprises are in store for us this year. We do know a live-action feature film is about two months away from a theatrical release, but that may not be what they were alluding to in the video. Perhaps we will learn more at the Pokémon World Championships in DC.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are coming in late 2019 exclusively to the Nintendo Switch.
