iOS 13, iPadOS Announced June 4, 2019

Yesterday, Apple announced during their WWDC 2019 event two major software upgrades are coming to Apple’s portable computing devices. The first up, iOS 13, will be coming to Apple iPhones and will include a much anticipated Dark Mode, new CarPlay Customization, and a lot more. iOS 13 will be supported by iPhone SE and newer phones and the recent iPod Touch.

iTunes as we know it is also gone, as Apple confirmed the rumors that MacOS 10.15 will be splitting the features of the iTunes application into multiple separate applications, and will reconfigure how Macs function while syncing iPhone or iPad devices. However, Microsoft Windows users likely won’t notice much difference as they simply plan to rebrand their Windows iTunes application and keep all the current functionality.

Finally, iPad owners will be getting a lot more capability out of their tablets very soon, as Apple has just revealed the all-new iPadOS. The new operating system made from the ground up for iPads will bring in all new functionality, improved Apple Pencil features (on supported tablets), and a lot more. Early previews liken it to bringing MacOS to tablets opposed to treating the iPad as a large iPhone! iPadOS will be supported by the 5th Generation (and newer) iPad, all iPad Pro models, and the recent iPad Air and iPad Mini models.

We will keep you all posted on these updates as new information comes out. Stay tuned!

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Coming to PS4 May 30, 2019

In 2009, Atari published the game many fans consider to be the true sequel to Ghostbusters 2, Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Written by the original Ghostbusters writing team of Dan Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis, it featured the return of the original Ghostbusters team (played by their original actors) as they teamed up with an all-new Ghostbuster, called the “Rookie”, to save New York City from an all-new supernatural threat.

The game digs deep into the lore established by the original films and wraps up the franchise’s story quite well. If they had never made another piece of Ghostbusters media ever again, the game was a fine way to go out. Now, Sony has just confirmed that original game is coming to the PS4 just in time for its 10th Anniversary.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is out now for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is coming to the PS4 later this year.

Halo: Outpost Discovery Behind the Scenes 3 May 29, 2019

The guys working on Halo: Outpost Discovery have just released an all-new Behind the Scenes video on something they plan to have on display at the show’s Hall of History, the M-12 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle, better known as the Warthog.

Since Outpost Discovery was first announced we knew a full-sized Warthog was going to be on display on the show’s floor, but we didn’t know which one they were going to use. Up until this point, I’ve known Microsoft has made at least two Warthogs and while either one of them could have been used on the show floor, both have issues with their use.

The first official real-world Warthog was constructed by WETA for the cancelled Halo feature film. That Warthog was later used in Halo: Landfall short film and had a cameo in Halo 4: Forward Until Dawn. Last I checked, it was back in New Zealand in the WETA workshop. A cousin of my neighbor saw it on display during a public tour of the facility. They weren’t allowed to say it’s name on the tour and my neighbor’s cousin doesn’t play Halo but when I asked her, “Did you see a big green Jeep with a chain gun in the back?” she said yes.

The second Warthog was 3D printed by a California-based company from the 3D models created for Halo 4. It is enormous, scaled for a person over seven feet tall to drive, but it looks more like a giant RC-car than a real vehicle of war. Last I checked it is currently on display at the at Petersen Museum in LA for the “Vehicles of Science-Fiction and Fantasy” show. Since that show will be going on for another year, Outpost Discovery can’t use that ‘hog either.

Now we can confirm they will be building their own from scratch. Take a look at it while it is still under construction.

I think it looks more like a Puma.
