Earlier today, Apple has released the latest macOS, Sonoma, for compatible Mac computers. The requirements for the new OS is pretty steep, and will not run on Apple computers that predate a 2017 release, with the exception of the 2017 iMac Pro.

The new OS comes with a ton of highly anticipated new features, and you can read all the details about the new features here. It weighs in at 6.5 GB. On an M1-powered Mac Mini, the update only took around twenty minutes. A sister update for the Mac Studio Display was also released, but cannot be installed until after the Sonoma update has concluded.

Normally I wouldn’t report about something like this on a gaming website. However, Apple is promising that this new OS will empower them to deliver more games for the Mac platform. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is going to be coming out by the end of the year, and Apple says it will run on the current Apple Silicon computers.

An update, version 17.0.2, has also been released for iPhone and iPad devices this evening. The update is meant to assist with issues transferring data between iOS 17 devices. At this time there does not appear to be an update for Apple TV or Apple Watch.
