We are just a few days away from the official release of the New Xbox One Experience, a brand new Operating System and interface for the Xbox One powered by Windows 10.

The new experience will also officially bring the much anticipated Backwards Compatibility feature so you’ll be able to play select Xbox 360 games (downloaded or disc) on the Xbox One. I’ll let Major Nelson talk about that.

For the past few weeks, Microsoft has offered an official list of about two dozen games which would be backwards compatible when the service launched. Most of them were old Rare games included with Rare Replay, a few popular downloadable titles like Geometry Wars, the original Gears of War, and of course the first Mass Effect. Today that list has been expanded to over a hundred titles, and the promise that games like Halo Reach and Halo Wars would be added later on.

You can read the complete list right here. It’s a great list of games to start with. All they need now is to add Alan Wake.

Sony has released a minor but required software update for the PlayStation 4. The new update, version 3.11 contains nonspecific bug fixes and optimizations.

If your PS4 was already running the previous software update, the new version should only clock in at around 250MB.

Software Update 3.11 is required to use your PS4 on the PlayStation Network.
